There are third party utilities that enable batch checkin or checkout from Sharepoint. I would like Oxygen's Sharepoint integration to allow batch checkin or batch checkout of a ditamap and all of its child maps and topics.

Sharepoint Online is what we are migrating to so that would be the most valuable.

Can you please help me understand why you want this batch actions?
While a document is checked-out by an user, nobody else can edit it.
Blocking the entire ditamap hierarchy can create many problems...

Blocking the entire map hierarchy matches our workflow in that each writer is assigned a specific chapter map and topics. As I understand, when checking out topics, they are copied to a local temp folder while being worked on. Since we have a remote workforce, it would be faster to check out a map and all of its topics, work on them locally, then check them as a batch back into Sharepoint Online.

We use maps at the book level and at the chapter level so being able to batch check out maps increases the flexibility of working with multiple files.

I've logged your feedback to our internal issue.
I'll update this forum post when/if the issue will be fixed.
