OS X - copy in Author mode, paste tagged text into other apps

I notice that when I copy in Author mode on OS X, when I paste into email, Notes, TextEdit, etc. what comes out is plain text. Is the full tagged text available anywhere for pasting, or retrieval by a script? I tried various combinations of "Paste Special", "pbpaste -Prefer rtf", and so on that I might expect to preserve extra info from the clipboard.

Hi John,

When you copy content from an application, that application can place multiple content flavors in the clipboard. Copying from the Author mode right now places two flavors in the clipboard, one flavor which is special and only interpreted when pasting back in the Author mode and a plain text flavor. We plan to add in the future another flavor HTML-based flavor which should be interpreted properly when pasted in emails.
We'll try to update this thread when the new Author copy flavor is implemented.

Regards,
Radu

Hello,

Just wanted to update this thread and let you know that, in the recently released Oxygen 22.1, when you copy content from the Author mode and paste it in HTML-aware tools (like email clients, office applications, Google Docs, etc.), Oxygen tries to preserve the overall styles such as links, lists, tables, bold, italic, underline, etc.

Best wishes,
