OpenPGP card support for Git plugin

Hi,
I hope this is the correct place to ask this.
From what I understand it's possible to let the Git plugin for XML Editor to connect to a host (like GitLab) using SSH, with a key/password combination.
But I use an openPGP smartcard to authenticate, and that doesn't seem to work.
Normally when I place my card in my card-reader and try to connect to an SSH server I"m prompted to enter my PIN, but the Git plugin shows a dialog box to enter a "passphrade" and entering my PIN in that box doesn't work.
So I was wondering if it's possible to include support for openPGP smartcards in a future release ?
Also, the YubiKey 4 (and newer) are also openPGP compatible so instead of a smarcard some yubikey's can also be used.
Thanks
Patrick
