Hello,
In what tree would you like to be able to set different background colors ? The Outline tree, or in general for elements and attributes in the text editor panel ? Do you think that configuring also the background color in the
syntax highlight scheme makes the document more readable than
selecting a stronger color as the foreground color of elements/attributes in a particular namespace ? In this way the elements and attributes of a particular namespace are more visible in a document than the elements/attributes of the other namespaces. I think that configuring different background colors can make the text less readable.

I agree where you say it CAN, i think it depends on your data and what you're trying to do with it. It's already nice how it is now
