Pasting tables into webhelp comments

Post by dcramer »

Hi there,

A nice feature of the webhelp feedback commenting system is that when you copy and paste in content from the html page into the rich text editor, it generally keeps the html formatting (e.g. lists are still lists, bold things are still bold). This is important because it allows the user to paste in content from the page and suggest edits inline using strikethorough and other formatting.

Unfortunately, when you paste in content form a table, the table formatting is all lost and only the text remains. Could the rich text editor be enhanced or configured to keep table formatting when an html table is pasted in?

Hello,

Thank you for the suggestion!

We already have an improvement request to improve rendering of HTML fragments in the WebHelp with Feedback comments, logged in our internal tracking system.
I've just added your feedback and vote for it.

The developers will analyze the use-case for a possible solution and we will let you know if this will get implemented.

Best Regards,
Costin
