Copy file name to clipboard

When I have a file open in Oxygen, I can right-click on the tab and select "Copy location" to copy the full file path. (Personally I would prefer "Copy full file path" to "Copy location", but that could just be me.)

What I would like to see is an additional option: "Copy file name", i.e. the basename.

I am using oxygen 18.0, build 2016042012 on Win 7.

Thanks for a superb editor
Joakim

Hi,

Just to clarify, the action has the generic name "Copy location", because the result is not always a file path, it's usually a URL (or URI). For remote files it's always a URL (e.g. http://my.http.server/my/file.xml).
If you use "Copy location" with a local file and paste it within Oxygen you'll obtain a URL (file:/C:/my/file.xml). If you paste it outside of Oxygen (e.g. in a text editor), you'll get a full file path (C:\my\file.xml). So "Copy full file path" would not be an appropriate name for this action, even if it would make more sense for local files.

I have logged a feature request on our issue tracking tool for a "Copy file name"/"Copy filename" action. We will notify this thread when it is implemented.

Regards,
Adrian
