Help in dialogs

It would be nice if you could launch the online help when a modal dialog is open. Currently, none of the dialogs has a help button, and the F1 key does not work.

A related annoyance is the following:
1. Start Oxygen help (F1)
2. Open any dialog
3. Switch to the help window and try to browse it. Well, you can't! The modal dialog blocks all interaction.
(Win XP, Java 1.5.0_04, Oxygen 6.1 2005072105)

Thanks,
We logged the first issue on our bugzilla. The second will not be an issue as you should be able to press F1 to get the help opened at exactly that location. As a workaround you can browse the web based help from:

It's nice to see the improvements in Oxygen 6.2.
But I'm still a little unhappy about the fact that a dialog (e.g. "Preferences") blocks interaction with the help if you first open the help window and then open the dialog and press F1. The context-sensitivity works, but the help window can't be browsed.

Hi MJ,
Code: Select all
"Preferences" blocks interaction with the help if you first open the help window and then open the dialog and press F1. The context-sensitivity works, but the help window can't be browsed.
You are right about this problem. We placed a bug and this will be fixed in the next version.
Regards, Radu.
