Insert Equation

Greetings
Virtually every topic I write contains equations, and inserting every equation involves a few extra operations. A few years back Radu mentioned (responding to lascar) that a future Oxygen release might allow an 'Insert Equation' toolbar button to be configured.
With the upcoming DITA 1.3 release offering much better support for math content, can I raise my hopes?
