Oxygen 5.1 can't find my JRE

Hey all,

I just installed oxygen 5.1 on a Win2000 machine. When I try to run it, I get a dialog saying "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) not found...." . Now, I do have 1.4.2_05 version of the SDK installed on this machine, though it is not in the default location (its in C:\java\j2sdk1.4.2_05). The %JAVA_HOME% env variable is set to the proper path, and I can run java.exe and such on the command line from any path on that computer.

So, what is it looking for that it can't find?

Thanks.

Hello Dave,

It is looking for Java settings in the Windows Registry created by the J2SDK install kit. Probably these settings are broken. As a workaround please copy the the whole subdirectory JRE of the J2SDK install directory, that is C:\j2sdk1.4.2_05\jre to the <oXygen/> install directory - by default C:\Program Files\Oxygen 5.1 if you didn't change it in the <oXygen/> install wizard.

Best Regards,
Sorin
