Archive Browser disappears when starting Editor

With v 14.2, whenever I have an empty Archive Browser window (i.e. no archive open), the Browser does not appear in the layout when I start Editor. If there is an archive file open when I close, then the Browser window does appear upon starting Editor. I've tried saving a Perspective layout file and setting that in Preferences to no avail.
Thanks.

Hello,

I can confirm this. Unfortunately it's a bug and the only workaround I see to keep the Archive Browser visible is to leave an archive open in the Archive Browser.
Note that you don't actually need to go to the Archive Browser view to open an archive. You can simply use File > Open (or double click an archive in the Project view) and Oxygen will open and show the archive in the Archive Browser.

I have logged this to our issue tracking tool and it will be analyzed and resolved in the next release of Oxygen.

Adrian

I've also noticed that when I have all files open (xml, xsl, svg) at a particular point (line number) in those files, when I restart oXygen the 'view' of the files resets back to the start of the file - the view of each file when I close oXygen is not reopened next time I start. Version 14.1 saved the current view for every file - can you reinstate this function?

Hello,

I don't see this problem on my instance of v14.2. Oxygen remembers correctly the caret and scroll position in each editor from the previous session.

Did you edit those files outside of Oxygen between Oxygen sessions?

Are you quitting Oxygen normally between sessions: File > Exit (Ctrl + Q / Alt + F4)?
Please avoid Windows log off or shutdown with Oxygen still running. On Windows Java SE 6 has some issues with the shutdown hook and the application does not exit cleanly at log off/shutdown time.

There may be a setting that affects this, but I can't imagine which one. Could you please export your global options (Options > Export Global Options) and send them to our support email address: support AT oxygenxml DOT com

Regards,
Adrian

Hello,

Thank you for the exported options. I was able to reproduce the problem with your exported options and I've also identified the option that causes the problem. The issue is caused by the Line wrap option from Options > Preferences, Editor / Edit modes / Text. If you disable this option, the editor is correctly scrolled to the last known position when starting a new Oxygen session.

I have logged this to our issue tracking tool and it will be analyzed and resolved in a future version of Oxygen.

Adrian

This issue related to the line wrap being enabled in the Oxygen Preferences should be fixed in Oxygen 15.1.
