Oxygen XML Forum

I am using 4.2 and have been able to create TEI-conformant files and transform them into html. However, from the beginning, Oxygen has stored my files in a mysterious folder C:/Program%20Files/Oxygen4.2/ rather than in C:/ProgramFiles/Oxygen4.2/. This Program%20folder was created by Oxygen. It contains no other software.

Can anyone tell m e why Oxygen is requiring this folder and how I can stop it from appearing. It is now causing problems.

<oXygen> does not require this folder. I transformed a TEI document to HTML and to PDF with <oXygen/> 4.2 and Java VM 1.4.2_03 but the folder with "%20" in name was not created. The output was placed in the folder "C:/Program Files/Oxygen4.2/". Can you tell us the version of Java VM you are using (go to Help -> About and look at the property java.vm.version) ? What are the parameters set in the transformation scenario for the transformation that creates this "%20" folder (mainly the "Save As" value) ?

The java vm version is java.vm.version is 1.4.2_05-b04. Since my original post I have upgraded to oXygen 5.1 but am still having the same problems.

Concerning the transformation scenario, for the input I browse to "c:\Program Files\Oxygen 5.1\frameworks\tex\xsl\teihtml.xsl". However, when I click OK, the input box displays "file:/C:/Program%20Files/Oxygen%205.1/frameworks/tei/xsl/html/teihtml.xsl"

When I run the transformation, it appears to be successful, but the output file that I specify as save as contains only one line, "<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>". An actual html file containing my changes will have been created elsewhere on the disk, in varying locations. For this reason, I have begun to use the prompt option, in which case I have had some success creating the file with the name and location that I want. However, the alternate directory structure seems to be a problem.

This happens because the input box displays only URLs so the file path that you select in the dialog is converted to a URL when it is displayed.

With <oXygen/> 5.1 and java.vm.version 1.4.2_05-b04 is the folder C:/Program%20Files/ still created ? If you delete it and make sure you run the transformation again with <oXygen/> 5.1 this folder is created while the transformation is running ? Or you are doing other action in <oXygen/> to create this folder ? I executed a TEI transformation and in the Save As field I used a relative path, absolute path, with/without macros, but the C:/Program%20Files/ was not created. Can you post the values of more params of your transformation scenario (XSL URL, transformer, XSLT parameters, Save As) ?
