Oxygen Editor for Mac OS X lacks Design Mode that the PC version comes with. Why is this?

Hello,

There are no differences in features between different platform distributions of Oxygen. I can assure you that the Mac OS X edition also has the Design mode in the XML schema editor.

Note that the Design mode is an XML Schema(XSD) editor feature. It only appears when you open an XSD file.

Oxygen XML Author(any platform) does not include the XML Schema editor so as a result it also lacks the Design mode.

I hope this clarifies any confusion.
Let me know if you still can't switch to Design mode.

Regards,
Adrian

I thought so too, given that this is a java application, it should work the same on all platforms. It really puzzled me.

But you gave me a great clue: the file has to be an XSD file.

In my case, I was looking at XSD files but they turned out to be just two different files and the one that I was looking on the Mac had an extension ".xsd.xml". Don't ask me why they named it like that. Ask me why I didn't notice. Well, maybe because it was the first time I opened Oxygen and I was overwhelmed with new things to look at so that little detail escaped from my attention.

Anyway, problem solved. Thanks for the reply!
