PHP Syntax Highlighting

To whom it may concern:
This software is invaluable - great job! It works well and there is nothing else like it. In fact, I would like to use it as my default editor in mac osx for php/ everything else even remotely xml-related. I have tried others for php dev and the only editors that come close to being useful are zend's and kde quanta (although i've heard for the win/pc world, ultraedit is one of the best). The drawback of those are the expense of Zend and the clunkiness of an x11 app on osx.
So, if possible, I would please like to know the status of bugfixes to 'php syntax highlighting'. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Here's a repost of the issue:

We are trying to fix the problem. The syntax highlight stops working when a "<" character is present in the PHP script because it is considered as being a start tag.
