Oxygen XML Forum

Hello,

After 11.1 upgrade, opening an XML document takes around 5 seconds to open using Eclipse plugin.

I'm running Mac OS Snow Leopard and JVM 1.6.0_17.

Everything was fine with Oxygen 10.X version.

Does it take this long every time you open an XML file? Or only the first time after starting Eclipse?

The latter is normal because the Oxygen plugin will be initialized the first time it is used so it takes longer for the first XML file to be opened. All XML files that are opened afterwards should take a lot less time to load.

It takes that long every time I open an XML file... In fact, it takes the same to open whether Eclipse was just started or it already opened several XML files.

Please tell me the build ids for Eclipse(Help -> About) and Oxygen(Window -> Preferences -> oXygen).

There is indeed a problem in v11.1 when opening XML files that have no associated DTD or schema. I have added this to our bug tracking tool and we will resolve it as soon as possible.
