Hello,

We have been getting some reports of Oxygen crashes in Snow Leopard after updating the Apple Java Virtual Machine to the latest version 1.6.0_17.
These seem to be caused by JavaApplicationStub, the launcher itself of the application.

There are a few fixes/workarounds to avoid this:

1. Launch Applications/Utilities/Java Preferences and click the Restore Defaults button from the section Java Applications.

2. Another solution is to reinstall the Java VM 1.5 which has been removed following this last JVM update(This is only applicable if 1.5 no longer appears in Java Preferences). Installation instructions are given here:
http://wiki.oneswarm.org/index.php/OS_X ... ow_Leopard

3. The most successful workaround is to open a terminal, change directory to the Oxygen installation folder and execute sh oxygenMac.sh.

We are encouraging users who have encountered crashes to report if these workarounds have given them results.

Also make sure you are running the latest build of Oxygen(2009121610 - 2009 December 16th). If you are not, please download from here:
v10.3 - http://www.oxygenxml.com/software_archive.html
v11.0 - http://www.oxygenxml.com/download_oxygenxml_editor.html
This build should also fix some graphical issues that appeared after the same JVM update.

Regards,
Adrian
