Problem: We don't seem to be able to edit our ClearCase repository based files with "XML Author" (standalone). We might do the check out/check in outside of this tool but consider this to be to clumsy for day to day use.

Additional information: We use the XML Author plugin for Eclipse together with our existing ClearCase plugin (for eclipse) to edit our repository files but wish to use the standalone version of XML Author as well.

Question: According to this feature survey ClearCase integration is among the features that will be implemented in future versions of XML Author. Is there no way around this limitation up until then?

Hello,

You can implement a URL handler plugin in Author standalone that can access and read files from the ClearCase repository. The support for custom plugins is documented in the User Manual. This is the only way of accessing ClearCase repository files without a built-in integration between Oxygen and ClearCase.

I am not aware of a ClearCase plugin for Oxygen. If any user implemented or knows about such a plugin maybe he will let us know here.
