Hello,

is it possible to switch the layout on the Fly?
I need another layout for editing XML-Files then Editing XSD- or DTD-Files.

Hello,

You can change the layout of the views and editors in Preferences. Go to menu Options -> Preferences -> Perspectives Layout and select your desired layout from the list of predefined layouts (Advanced, Author, Basic, Intermediate, etc) or set a custom layout with the option Use fixed layout - Specified. You can save the current layout by going to menu Perspective -> Save Layout.

thanks, I know about that, but this is not practicable.

Should I open the preferences everytime I switch between XML-Files and XSD- or DTD-Files?

Yes, if you switch the layout often going to the Preferences dialog is not quite fast. Maybe if the Perspective toolbar would allow adding buttons that switch the layout to a custom one that would be faster?

Hello,

Starting with v14.0 you can easily load a layout with main menu > Window > Load Layout. The layouts can be saved from: main menu > Window > Save Layout.
