SVG Images shows in standalone, not in Eclipse

				Hi,
Most of our images are in SVG format, these show in de Author view without a rendering problem in oXygen standalone. Embedded in Eclipse however the following message is shown:
Code: Select all
Unsupported content type for :file:/c:/blah/foo.svg
Do i need to install another plugin?

				Dear Raphael,
Unfortunately we do not have enough platform support in Eclipse to display SVG images.
For display of images in the standalone version we use Batik but Batik cannot be user for Eclipse as it has a Swing architecture.

				Radu,
Thanks for your reply...
"Oops"..that's quite a disappointment (did i miss that somewhere in the documentation/information?). I am setting up a configuration for Authors in which Eclipse (with oXygen embedded) plays a very important role (integration with Tasks list, Version Control, Issue management, collaboration etc).
What are your plans in this direction?

Raphael

				Dear Raphael,
We are studying this but there is no definite timeline for displaying SVG images in the Eclipse plugin. There seems to be simply no support available for this.

Radu

				Dear Radu,
I appreciate your post, and i am hoping for a breakthrough in that area soon. This is a extremely important feature for use in order to build a well integrated authoring platform.
I do know of a Batik based plugin for eclipse:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/svgplugin, I also saw one time a charting plugin that renders in SVG.
Hopefully your team will be able to fully support the eclipse platform soon.
Thanks,
Raphael

				Hello,
We will check out the SVG plugin for Eclipse. I see that this plugin can render SVG images in Eclipse based on the Batik library.
Thank you for the pointer,
Sorin

				Hello Raphael,
We have this issue logged in our system but it will not go in the next version (10.3). It will remain for one of the future versions.

Sorin

I know this is an old thread but I am new to the forum and was wondering if there were any more updates?
Thanks in advance!

				Hi Jill,
Support for displaying SVG in the Author page for the Oxygen Eclipse plugin was added from what I recall in Oxygen 10.3.
See this post:

Radu
