Oxygen keeps losing custom preferences after the update

After updating Oxygen XML, my custom preferences (like editor layout, fonts, and shortcuts) are reset. Is there a way to keep these settings between versions without reconfiguring everything each time?

Hello,
On what platform are you running Oxygen?
What was the old version and what is the new version of Oxygen? If the version gap is too large between the two some settings may be reset.
If you have previously tested another version of Oxygen that is between the two, the options from the old one that you are expecting will not be imported automatically. When a new version starts for the first time, Oxygen will automatically import the options of the previous most recent version that it finds.
If you need to manually import them, you can find them in the
Preferences Directory Location
A variety of resources (such as global options, license information, and history files) are stored in a preferences directory (com.oxygenxml) that is in the following locations:
- Windows (7, 8, 10, 11) - [user_home_directory]\AppData\Roaming\com.oxygenxml
- macOS - [user_home_directory]/Library/Preferences/com.oxygenxml
- Linux/Unix - [user_home_directory]/.com.oxygenxml
You can use
menu > Options > Import Global Options and pick the file
oxyOptionsSaVV.v.xml, where VV.v is the version.
For the editor layout I'm afraid it's more complicated. It would be preferable to manually save it from the old version and try to import it in the new one. The thing is the layout can change significantly across versions and importing an old layout can sometimes break the docking system causing Oxygen to automatically reset it.
