Can I disable projects entirely?

Good day,
I currently write DITA documents for an organization whose custom CMS is not compatible with OxygenXML. This means that we edit files by checking them in and out, uploading and downloading, via a web interface. We cannot use the Project view, because we edit our stuff in this piecemeal manner.

At some point in the past, I somehow 'set up' project mode. I remember this because I remember hitting "OK" on some control and it warning me that this would change how OxygenXML operated. Anyhow, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to turn it back off again. The validator complains that I don't have a map set up in the DITA maps manager, and no root map is specified, and I'd like it to just let me be, y'know?

Anyhow, thanks for any help you all can give!

Charles

Hi Charles,

There is no "project mode" in Oxygen.
The Oxygen Project view always has a project opened inside it (by default it is the default "samples" project).
But you can open in Oxygen files which do not belong to the current project opened in the Project view. So if you are not using the Project view, you can close or ignore it.
About this remark:
The validator complains that I don't have a map set up in the DITA maps manager, and no root map is specified, and I'd like it to just let me be, y'know?
Can you upload a screenshot of your screen showing where the message is displayed?
I assume you open in Oxygen a DITA topic which has key references or content key references. Oxygen complains that it does not have a root DITA Map opened in the DITA Maps Manager view in order to resolve those keys. These validation errors are always reported by Oxygen and the fact they are reported is not related to the Project view.

Radu
