wrap, but not break, lines

Hi,

I am new to oXygen and a little confused with the "format and indent" feature. I would like oXygen to wrap long lines in a file when I am working on it so that I dont have to scroll horizontally, but not insert line breaks upon saving the file. Is there a way to configure oXygen to do this? I tried different options in the "format" preferences, but cant make it work.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Wolfhart

Dear Wolfhart,

As you correctly noticed the "Format and indent" action introduces line break characters into the document and by doing this it indeed modifies the original text.
So what you probably need is a visual line wrap in order to view all the text content.
You can go to Preferences -> Editor and activate the Line Wrap checkbox. As you can see this feature disables some other minor ones and could slower the display down when editing very large files with very long lines but I think this is close to what you want.

Best regards,
Radu

It's a shame it disables folding

I wish this would work with folding. That would really make it easy to view some of my really poorly formatted XML without having to pretty-print it.

Dear Steve,

We already have this improvement request added to out database.
But I cannot give you a clear estimate on this one because it is a very difficult thing to accomplish.
I'll update this post if and when this will get done.

Best regards,
Radu
