How do I set Oxygen Editor to remember the window size?

This is minor, I know, but I can't find a way to stop Oxygen Editor from opening in full screen mode. Is there a way to do this?

I'm running Oxygen Editor 16 and 17 on a MacBook.

Hi,

By default Oxygen remembers the window size, state and position from the previous session.
So, if you switched to full screen mode at one time and quit the application, the next time you start it, it will remember that you left it in full-screen mode.
Did you switch it back to normal mode and it keeps reopening in full screen mode?

To exit full screen mode in OS X Yosemite, move the mouse pointer to the top of the window and when the bar appears, click the green widget (third) from the top left corner.

Adrian

I resize the window every time it's opened. I close both the document and Oxygen with the window sized the way I like. No matter what I do, it always opens sized into full screen. Not actual full screen, but the window size fills the monitor instead of being the size I left it at.

FYI, both Author and Developer remember the window size when I open them.

Hi,

Since this happens only in Editor, there's probably a setting somewhere that inadvertently affects this.
Have you tried switching to a different project in Editor (for testing purposes)? Like sample.xpr from Oxygen/samples. This would rule out a project setting. If the problem reproduces only with a certain project, but not with others, please send us that .xpr file.

If the problem reproduces with any project, please export your gobal options (menu > Options > Export Global Options) and send them to our support email address, support@oxygenxml.com

Regards,
Adrian

I don't use projects, and have sent the exported global settings to support.

Thanks for your help, as always!

Hi,

I'm mentioning here the problem and solution, in case anyone else encounters this.

It's a bug of sorts that appears with Java 6 when maximizing the application window.
After maximizing the window, the application retains the "maximized" status, so unless you toggle maximize again, it will forever remember it was maximized. It should have reset the "maximized" status after resizing or moving the window. I've logged an issue to address this.

To get out of this maximized state, you have to maximize the window again (it acts like a toggle for the maximized state).

In OS X 10.10 to enter/exit the maximized state, you need to press the Option (Alt) key, keep it pressed and click the green widget (third) from the top left corner of the application window. It's the same widget used for the full screen mode, but note that when you press the Option (Alt) key the widget symbol changes from the opposite arrows (full screen) to a plus sign, + (maximize).
You can see an example here:
http://osxdaily.com/2014/10/28/maximize ... -os-x-mac/

In OS X 10.9 and earlier this widget is always + (maximize), while the full screen widget is located in the top right corner. So, in OS X 10.9 and earlier to enter/exit the maximized state you can simply click the green widget (+).

Adrian
