Transform the dita map to a chm and pdf.

Both successfully transform,

However the CHM window opens (internet explorer) and shows this error:

Make sure the web address //ieframe.dll/dnserrordiagoff.htm# is correct.
Look for the page with your search engine.
Refresh the page in a few minutes.
Check that all network cables are plugged in.
Verify that airplane mode is turned off.
Make sure your wireless switch is turned on.
See if you can connect to mobile broadband.
Restart your router.

My network is fine. I noticed the dll has a # character. I have never changed that and no idea how that could have happened.

I've been using the same dita map for a year, updates quarterly and all of a sudden this happens.

If anyone has any solutions or suggestions please let me know.

Did you run the built-in DITA Map CHM transformation in the Oxygen application, or a customized version of this transformation? Did you set any parameter in the transformation? What values you set for what parameters?

Please make sure there is no '#' character or '%' character in the CHM file name or in the path of the directory where the CHM file was created.

If there is no '#' or '%' character but the problem persists please send us sample files for reproducing the problem: a sample DITA map and the necessary DITA XML topic files, and the CHM result file that you get in the Oxygen application.

Just in case anyone else encounters this problem, in this particular case the error was caused by the presence of spaces in some of the DITA source file names.

To conclude, when needing to publish DITA to CHM, avoid using in source file names the characters '#', '%' and ' ' (space).
