Unicode support

Hi,

we have some problems with the Unicode support in Oxygen XML. Does Oxygen XML support charcters from "Supplemental Private Use Area-A", i.e. from U+f0080 upwards, in Unicode fonts? In Oxygen XML 14.2 we cannot display a character from there - even after copying it from clipboard.

And: can we use customized Micrsoft keyboard layouts? Or does Oxygen XML intercept input from keyboard layouts in any way?

Kind regards,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,

Please see some answers below:

The Oxygen Character Map dialog shows for each selected font the set of characters which can be rendered with it. We do not control what range of characters each font installed on the operating system can render.

To also see the characters in the editor you probably need to find (possibly install) and use for display (Preferences->"Fonts" page) a font which can render these characters. If you are setting font families from the CSS for the Author visual editing mode, you would need to edit the CSS and set a proper font family there.

Oxygen should work with various keyboard layouts. You can try and if this does not work for you, just give us more details about what you are trying to do.
