trouble setting new shortcut for find next

Post by Syd »

Using XML Developer 23.0, build 2020121712 on Ubuntu 20.04.

I want to set the keyboard shortcut for “Find Next” to ctl-g. Using the Menu Shortcuts dialog in Options > Preferences or Options > Menu Shortcut Keys seems to work, in that the ctl-g gets registered (as “Ctrl-G”). But it does not work, in that typing ctl-g after a Find command does not Find the next. (I don’t know what it does.)

Resetting it to F3 works.

Hello,

By default Ctrl+G is assigned to the "Last Modification" (Navigation) action. When setting "Ctrl+G ", you should have seen an information dialog pointing out a possible keyboard shortcut conflict and prompting for confirmation.
Anyway, if you want to override that other action's shortcut, you should find it (Last Modification), edit it, and clear its shortcut (Clear button).
