DITA file reference

Hi!
When I insert a reference to another DITA-file its "format" defined as "xml". And then I need manually fix it to "dita". Is it possible to put a link to dita file with format "dita" by default?

Hi,

The DITA-related link drop down button located on the toolbar has three actions: "Cross reference", "File reference" and "Web link". For links to DITA resources or to particular elements from inside DITA resources you should use the "Cross reference" action. The "File reference" is designed to insert links to various other resources (PDFs, ZIPs or any other non-DITA file).
