letsencrypt.org root certificate

Post by msklvsk »

Folks say, the new way to get a free SSL certificate is letsencrypt.org. However, despite widely acknowledged, the root certificate for letsencrypt is still missing from Oracle JVM (as for 1.8.0_91), therefore https connections fail. Letsencrypt claims Oracle will ship the root in upcoming java update (https://community.letsencrypt.org/t/wil ... jre/134/46), however no dates were mentioned.

We want to rely on this authority in our oXygen plugin. If JVM you bundle with 18.1 won't include that update, can you manually add letsencrypt's root certificate to embedded JVM? or it's to much to ask, I'm affraid?

Hi,

Thanks for the request, I added an issue on our side and we'll consider adding default support for such certificates. Right now we rely on what the Java VM supports out of the box.
