catalog as root node

When creating an XML-file with catalog as root node, I am getting
cvc-elt.1.a: Cannot find the declaration of element 'catalog'.

C:\Program Files\Oxygen XML Editor 14\frameworks\xml\catalog1.1.xsd

I have no intention using the catalog1.1.xsd file. Is ther a way to disable this feature - if so - how?

Hi,

The Oxygen framework Oasis XML Catalog is configured to handle all XML files that have the root element 'catalog'.
You can avoid this in Options > Preferences, Document Type Association. Edit the document type OASIS XML Catalog (confirm the duplication if prompted to) and from the Association rules (first) tab remove the rule that mentions the root local name 'catalog'. Press OK in all dialogs and you're done.
