Re: eXist Database, can't get it to work

OK, so I was doing that wrong (I guess)

Now I have the 'Database Explorer' window open.
But I can't browse down into the DB.

I get "An IO error occurred: 404 Not Found for http://<my_url>:8080/exist/xmlrpc"

What did I forget to configure?

eXist Database, can't get it to work

I've got an installed and working eXist Database running under Tomcat I've got Oxygen XML 8.1 also running. I set up the connector to eXist as per the instructions. But when I go to to open or save a filer to the DB I get an error In the "Server URL" I enter: xmldb:exist://<my_hostname>/ex...

Re: Reclaim file extensions after install of MS Visual Studio

I tyhink you are right.
I have both Oxygen 8.1 and 8.2 installed

I can set the filetype to Oxygen 8.2 and that takes.
But if I set it to Oxygen 8.1, it immediately reverts back to IE 7.

I'm searching the registry now...

Thanks!

Re: Reclaim file extensions after install of MS Visual Studio

I always like resurrecting old thread :) I can't change the 'Opens with' for the XML files. It's set to Internet Explorer and while I can press the 'Change' button and I can select Oxygen XML 8.1, the 'Always use...' check box is grayed out. So I select Oxygen and press OK and the Properties dialog ...

Re: XSLT, Depends on how I start Oxygen

It occurs to me that maybe upgrading my Saxon might change how this works.

Is it possible to ad Saxon9 to Oxygen 8.2?

If so, are their guidelines or instructions on how to do it?

Thanks,

Re: XSLT, Depends on how I start Oxygen

With 8.1 I can start Oxygen by double-clicking on the XSL file on the D: drive or, I can change the 'Start In' directory in the Oxygen shortcut, and the relative path finds the files on the D: drive. With 8.2 it doesn't. So something changed between 8.1 and 8.2. Whether it's a bug or not, that's you...

Re: XSLT, Depends on how I start Oxygen

Thanks. That works in 8.1 but not in 8.2 The problem with using the drive letter is I ultimately run the transformations from cygwin bash scripts. The drive letter causes problems in that case. But, thanks for getting back to me. I'll stick with 8.1 for the time being. Would 9.1 have this same issue?

Re: XSLT, Depends on how I start Oxygen

Hi,

Any ideas on this? 8.2 completely broke my XSLT processing. I'm forced to back rev myself to 8.1 so I can continue working.

Re: XSLT, Depends on how I start Oxygen

Spoke too soon..

Now, with 8.2, it's doesn't work at all, even if I change the shortcut.

So, I'm backing back to R8.1.

I'm sure it has something to do with the drive letters being different.

Re: XSLT, Depends on how I start Oxygen

Thanks for the heads up about 8.2

Same problem, but I've narrowed it down to drive letter.

My install is on the C: drive, I work on the D: drive.

I changed the shortcut to Oxygen 8.2 to make the D: drive the "Start In" drive and it works.

So, it's probably not really an issue.

Thanks!

XSLT, Depends on how I start Oxygen

I'm still on Oxygen 8.1 running on XP sp2. I have an XSLT that uses: <xsl:variable name="subtreeCmdsource" select="collection('/mphare/Development/structured-fm/XSLT/source/?select=*.xml')"/> because I want to run the transformation against a bunch of XML files, not just one. If ...

Reclaim file extensions after install of MS Visual Studio

Hi,

I installed Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Pro, and it grabbed some of the file extensions that were pointing to OxygenXML: DTD, XSD for example.

I've looked through the menus and didn't find a way to reclaim these for Oxygen.
Is there a way to do this?

Thanks!

I've tried a few other validators and I also get the same error. That's why I was leaning toward the schema being incorrect.

Am I using xs:anyType correctly?

I am trying to use a published Schema for a XRPC interface. The problem is I can't even validate the example XML they provide with their own schema. Either their schema has a flaw, or the schema validator used by Oxygen7.1 isn't working. I lean toward the first so I did a simple example that contain...

Help! Font for XSLT Transformations keep shrinking

I'm in the XSLT debugger and all starts out well. But after a while I notice the font size in the right-hand output window begins to shrink. After a while it's so small I can't read it. Trying to work through connecting to an eXist DB

I've installed the latest version of eXist (20060316) under Tomcat.

I can connect to the exist admin screens using a web browser (http://myserver:8080/exist/admin/admin.xql, no problem.

But I am unable to connect using FTP / WebDAV.

Any thoughts as to what I need to look for?
