Re: PDF Transformation Time

Wow! One minute and one second when I changed my output destinations to a local folder.

If that's not a great result, I don't know what is.

Thanks for your continued help and advice!

Re: PDF Transformation Time

I have no idea why that change to the output folder made any difference. You are running the processing on the local disk and not on some shared network drive, right? Actually, no. The repository lives on a shared network drive. And your topics are XML Schema based right? Processing for DTD-based t...

Re: PDF Transformation Time

I was able to get the build time down to ten minutes or less by a simple restructuring of the output files. Instead of: "repository/output/dan/out", I changed it to "repository/output_dan/out". I suppose the OT was having trouble with that "dan" subfolder. Since ten min...

Re: Converting DITA Document Type with Refactoring

Sorry I never got back to you on this. I discovered that it's not an Oxygen problem, it's something on my end.

PDF Transformation Time

I am working on optimizing our DITA custom PDF transformations, which sometimes take over an hour to process. I have tried several things that I've found here in the forums, but nothing seems to make much difference. I'm still pretty new to Oxygen and DITA so I'm sure there's a solution that I'm sim...

Converting DITA Document Type with Refactoring

Came across a minor bug when converting a Task to a Concept (or any other type of conversion) using XML Refactoring. The document type changes as-advertised, but for some reason the Title element becomes invalid for the new document type. It's simple enough to work around: Just delete the title and ...

Re: Keep Image With Step

Thanks for the advice. Your input, combined with other things I found in the past, resulted in success. I edited this file: C:\Program Files\Oxygen XML Editor 18\frameworks\dita\DITA-OT2.x\plugins\org.dita.pdf2\cfg\fo\attrs\task-elements-attr.xsl With this code for the <step> element: <xsl:attribute...

Keep Image With Step

I've seen several similar posts about this, and I've tried several of the recommendations. Nothing has worked thus far. Here's my issue... I'm authoring task DITA files with steps and images with each step. If an image gets forced to a new page, the step associated with the image won't follow with i...

Advice: Reorganizing DITA File Structure

Greetings, all. I'm tasked with a project, and I'd appreciate advice from the forum on the best way to approach the job. I'm pretty new to DITA, but have plenty of IT experience. Here's a rundown... Currently, all of our DITA files are stored in a single file folder. There are over eight thousand fi...

Using Oxygen to Restructure DITA Files

Greetings, all. I’m very new to Oxygen and have recently began using it to work on code-related issues in our DITA files. I’m undertaking a new project right now, and I wonder if there’s a tool in Oxygen that will help me overcome a large, time-consuming hurdle. I have a feeling there is – I’ve just...
