Sort Document Types: Sort Actions by name, description ...

Dear Developers, my list of actions (Document Types / Author / Actions) is growing and growing, and it becomes more and more difficult to maintain an overview. The list in "Actions" is only sortable by "ID", while in the four tabs below "Author", the lists of actions co...

Re: Empty lines in Author mode

Hi Radu, thank you very much for your answer. Following your hints, I figured out that this behaviour was caused by the schema: <sectionA> may contain no mixed content, while <sectionB> does. In my CSS, I set white-space to -oxy-trim-when-ws-only on <sectionB>, which solved the problem. Thanks again...

Empty lines in Author mode

Dear Forum, I have an issue with blank lines which appear the Author mode. I have some data sets that look like this: <sectionA> <subElementA>Content</subElementA> <subElementA>Content</subElementA> <subElementA>Content</subElementA> </sectionA> <sectionB> <subElementB>Content</subElementB> <subElem...

Working with ${selection} in Action / XPath

Dear Forum, I am configuring Oxygen Author for transcribing and formatting historical texts. The main issue are the formattings (like bold, italic, etcetera). An example: <p>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, <hi rend="italic">consectetur <hi rend="bold">adipisici</hi> elit</hi>, sed <h...

Re: additional CSS features for Author mode

property/value "font-variant: small-caps" We do not yet have support for this, we tried to do this once but we do not seem to have much support in the Java VM for it. But there are free TTF fonts which render with small-caps by default (you can google for "TTF small caps font")....

Re: Author mode: working with -oxy-placeholder-content

Thanks a lot - I was not aware of the :empty pseudo class. This works great!
The concat() solution is a nice workaround for this situation, too.

Author mode: working with -oxy-placeholder-content

Dear Forum, I have an issue when trying to use "-oxy-placeholder-content". Using TEI, I want to identify later and earlier stages of a historical text, by parallel markup. Here is an example: <app> <lem wit="#w1">lived</lem> <rdg wit="#w2">liveth</rdg> <rdg wit="#w...

additional CSS features for Author mode

Dear Forum, is there a chance that the Author mode will support one or more of the following CSS features in one of the next releases? property/value "font-variant: small-caps" property "text-decoration-color" selector "::first-letter" This would be of relevance when co...

oxy_datePicker() and ISO dates

Dear developers, I make frequent use of oxy_datePicker() for inserting ISO dates. In most cases, the required date format is yyyy-MM-dd (like 1853-05-24), which works perfectly. In some cases, it is neccessary to insert only the month of a year, or even only the year. According to the ISO standard, ...

Spellcheck does not remember words with apostrophes

Dear Forum, I frequently use Hunspell. As I work a lot on historical (German) texts, I have added a lot of words to my dictionary. Now I have trouble with words that contain apostrophes, for example: "Shakespeare’s" (with typographical apostrophe). After having added such a word to the dic...

Re: CSS features

Hi Radu,

spring 2015 would be just perfect for our project. Thank you very much for looking into our issue!

I will also try the method with the font family you proposed.

All the best,
friedemann

Re: CSS features

Yes, indeed this is a practical workaround, which I had figured out some days before. Thanks nonetheless :) Of course, from an ideal perspective, it would be nice to have the Author Mode CSS as similar as possible to a standard web browser CSS. I still haven't found a workaround for the letter-spaci...

Re: CSS features

Hi Radu, we are planning to transcribe 19th century texts (from print, mostly journals or newspapers) to TEI XML. Wide letter-spacing and indented paragraphs are very typical for that time. It would be perfect for the transcribers if I could configure the Author Mode to look as similar as possible t...

Re: CSS features

Hi Radu,

thank you for your response, that is good news. In fact, my two personal priorities are letter-spacing and text-indent, while text-align:justify would more be like a "luxury" feature.

Best regards,

CSS features

Dear developers, I noticed that some CSS features, which are of great importance for some of my projects, are currently not supported in the Author Mode. They are CSS 2 standard, though, and supported by all standard browsers. Would it be possible to support them in one of the next versions? This co...
