Hi George, I've been out of the loop for quite a while, busy on other things. But I'm back again and really enjoying v6. Were you ever able to get this issue with SaxonSA fixed? I've just monkeyed with it a bit, but it still seems like automatic validation is still not kicking in when transforms are...

Dan, Thanks, that helps a lot. My confusion was precisely the presumption of a Windows *share*-- which makes perfect sense (though may not always be the case while testing under development). Just to show how screwed up this whole area is, I found a recent IETF draft proposal that doesn't really pro...

I should have been more specific, when I said "in my xml".

I mean, when the uri is used as the value of the the href attribute of an include element in an RNG file.

URI's for local files

George et al, Can you help me get straight in my confused mind what format(s) I can/should use for uri references to local files inside my xml? I know this is a vexing issue in a lot of contexts, and I'm trying to figure out what oxygen's understanding is driven by (Java, oxygen envrinoment, the par...

George,

Yes, I think turning the additional features on, but treating them all as warnings would be a very reasonable approach.

George, That's fine, I'll wait until things stabilize. I thought I'd report this in case it hadn't come up on your radar. Another thing, though. I was trying out the schema-aware version of Saxon. It seems like the "schema-aware" option to apply validation to the source xml when there is a...

Saxon 8.2 issue

Having trouble getting oXygen to recognize the new release of Saxon (8.2).

Release docs (http://www.saxonica.com/documentation/d ... ation.html) mention that new JAXP 1.3 support in this Saxon release requires separate installation of JAXP 1.3 library for JDK 1.4x, but I am already using JDK 1.5.

George,

Good heavens! You're way ahead of me. I didn't even realize this

Well, now that I see it, it's time for me to start using it ! (and publicizing it to others  ).

Once again, this just goes to show how great this product is. Thanks.

NVDL (NRL) support

With oXygen having excellent support for RNG and (now) Schematron, it will surely be a favorite tool for DSDL afficianados. I'd like to mention that DSDL Part 4 (NVDL = namespace-based validation dispatching language) just came out last week in a preliminary request-for-comments version (downloadabl...

Saxon 8

Has anybody tried to use the new release of Saxon (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/saxon/saxonb8-0.zip) as an external (JAXP) transformer? I've tried it using the same setup described in the help article available on this site, and no joy. This setup worked fine with oxygen + Saxon 7.x, but the c...

Tag-insight question

Relax NG (as you know) allows elements and attributes from other namespaces to appear in a schema. When using this feature to incorporate other vocabulary into an RNG schema, is there any way to add that vocabulary to oXygen's RNG tag-insight list? For example, let's say I was using xhtml vocab to e...

Okay, I now have a pretty good setup for doing validation of RNG with embedded Schematron inside the oXygen 4.0 environment. Here's what I did, see if you like my system: (1) Create a folder ../oXygen4.0/Schematron. (2) Into that folder, put the following files (see below for sources): RNG2Schtrn.xs...

Command-line macro for associated schema?

Is there a command-line macro (${xxx}) for the pathname to the schema associated with the open document, by any chance? If not, could you make that a feature?

I actually did make a bit of progress on this, which might be of interest to others. From Topologi's website I downloaded their freeware Schema Validator (which is a really nice utility, btw, and very much worth having). Eddie Robertsson wrote a nice little xsl named RNG2Schtrn to extract embedded s...

Iulian,

Yes, sorry. That's the non-Eclipse version on WinXP with JRE 1.4.2_04.

Like I say, it's not terribly reproducible. I've had multiple open docs in the editor whenever it happened, but I don't know if that's truly related. I'll keep you posted with any new info on this thread.

Problem opening Trang in 4.0 beta

I'm experiencing an intermittent problem opening Trang in 4.0B. Wish I could isolate the problem more, but all I can tell you is that sometimes (not always) when I select Trang, the oXygen window loses focus, but the Trang dialog box fails to appear. If I cycle through some other open application wi...

4.0 feature: convert results to open document

One feature I'd like to see in 4.0 (it may be there, but I'm just missing it): In the XSLT debugger, I'd like an easy way to copy the results window contents to a new open document in the XML pane. This is for the case where the output of the transform is going to be a new xml document. I can curren...

Combined Relax NG + Schematron

I'd like to try out some Relax NG with emebedded Schematron -- it looks like a great alternative to WXS. I'm new to both Relax NG and Schematron, though, so I'm still trying to figure out how to best set up oXygen to make document validation easy. I see from James Clark's website that Jing has suppo...
