Error window docking with other views

Hi I am using OxygenXML 10.2 and I wonder if the docking function in the application could be slightly modified (I am not sure if I am using the terminology correctly). When an error occurs in a loaded XML document, the results panel pops up in the bottom centre of the OxygenXML window. Is it possib...

Re: Oxygen 10.2: Changes for 'Support for read-only files'

Hi mlcook You may find the value for the default is less of an issue for you if you make use of the 'import global options'. I would urge re-examination of the default for the suggested "Can edit Read-only files". I provide support for a large team of mostly business oriented users over tw...

Re: Oxygen 10.2: Changes for 'Support for read-only files'

Thanks Radu for your reply.

When is it likely that you will implement the option (to the preferences): "Can edit Read only files", default on "true" that you discussed your earlier post.

Will this change be a patch on Oxygen 10.2? Or will it be in Oxygen 10.3?

Re: Oxygen 10.2: Changes for 'Support for read-only files'

Hi Radu This change would be sufficient for my team. Obviously, we will use the default and set 'Can edit read-only files' to 'true'. Will there be a visual indication, say using the padlock, to distinguish between those files that are writable and those that are read-only? Will this change be a pat...

Oxygen 10.2: Changes for 'Support for read-only files'

Hi I like the new features of Oxygen 10.2 but for the new feature 'Support for read-only files'. I see in this release another feature that I asked for (XML elements shown as in grey in the 'Elements perspective' that were defined in a XML Schema complex type but not valid at the insertion point in ...

I did look around for some other large, public XML schemas, such as HL7. If I have time, I will see if this schema causes OxygenXML to behave similar to the XML schema that we use.

Re: Reducing memory consumption

I am using <oXygen/> XML Editor 10.1, build 2009022712 On starting OxygenXML, I load our XML Schema (32,000 lines, 1.5 MBytes), and it consumes 249 MBytes. On a set of eight XML sample files, 613 MBytes of memory is consumed. On a more typical set of sixteen XML sample files, 1200 MBytes of memory i...

Reducing memory consumption

Hi I regularly work on large sets of XML files and am constantly having to open/close files to work within the limits of my PC memory. Are there ways that I can reduce the memory consumed by OxygenXML? Are there features that I can turn off? Are there ways of unloading memory, say, when switching be...

Re: MsoXmlEd.exe takes XML file association on installing Office

This approach did not completely fix the XML file association problem and, for example, with this...

Fair enough. It does have to be simple and easy to use and obvious.

Thanks for your explanation.

MsoXmlEd.exe takes XML file association on installing Office

From what I can see, part of the installation for MS-Office 2007 takes the file association, like it or not, and re-assigns it to the Microsoft XML tool 'MsoXmlEd.exe'. Other than re-installing OxygenXML and, during the installation, selecting to associate XML files with OxygenXML, is there a simple...

Re: Groups / multiple projects for large number of related files

Hi I would not want to debate if 'synchronize' is the right word. The problem that I am trying to solve is that if we load about a dozen samples/schemas, then OxygenXML consumes 1GByte or more of memory. I am trying to work with this limitation and that we often total more than a dozen samples files...

Re: Groups / multiple projects for large number of related files

Hi Sorin I should have been more specific. What I meant by 'Synchronise' was to have open only the files that are listed under the project logical folder when I select this action. That is, to open files in the list that have not been opened in the Editor Perspective BUT close any file that is curre...

Thanks Sorin for your prompt reply. Your suggestion of the Project View 'logical folder' is an OxygenXML feature that I was not aware of. I will definitely make use of it. I have been using projects to group/categorize large number of related XML files. However, I can only open one project at a time and I cannot quickly swap between projects. Change how element view in XML editor hides invalid elements

I would like to change the behavior of the Element View of the XML Editor. Currently it only shows the elements that are valid at a specific point in an XML sample that is associated with an XML Schema. XML Schemas typically use 'sequence' of elements and so the order of the elements is obviously im...

Hi Is it possible to get statistics from the License Server on the usage of OxygenXML licenses? Say as a log file? I would also like to make a request for this feature.

From some other posts, it sounds that the underlying parser can handle the feature request
"Find in Files" xpath.

It seems OxygenXML only needs to add this feature to the "Find in Files" dialog.
