Re: Pushing configuration changes to writers

Hi Adrian, Ok, thanks. That's interesting. I'll probably go ahead with a nsis-based approach though. I think users will want to create projects for collections of related documents to facilitate searching all of them at once and so on. But the project options/scenarios is useful because I can tell u...

Re: Pushing configuration changes to writers

Well, I mean that I would make a number of configuration changes ranging from adding a new framework (based on the DocBook framework) to making general configuration changes (e.g. adding elements to skip while spell checking, hiding certain toolbars by default, and so on). I want to share these chan...

Pushing configuration changes to writers

Hi there, I'm configuring oXygen for our local needs and will probably add a customized version of the DocBook framework. I can see that most of the config is stored (on Windows XP) in ~/Application Data/com.oxygenxml/oxyAuthorOptionsSa12.0.xml. I can write a little tool which will put all the files...

Generic DITA-OT type transformation scenario

Hi there, We use ant to drive our build process for DocBook documents. I will therefore be creating DITA-OT-type transformation scenarios. I notice that there doesn't seem to be the option to include anything like ${ask('Message',input_type,'default_value')} as the value for a property like you can ...

API for customizing olinik insertion

Hi there, At some point, I would like to customize oXygen's olink dialog so that if you are inserting an olink where the targetptr ends in a certain string (i.e. ".glossary"), clicking OK inserts a glossterm with the value of the targetptr stored in some attribute. This would allow us to u...

Automatically (re)open olink db in olink dialog

Hi there, When I open the insert olink dialog for the first time, I have to navigate to the olink database for that document. Subsequently in that session, when I open the olink dialog again, it automatically opens the olink database file. However when I close oxygen and reopen the document, oxygen ...

Re: How can I hide elements that are not used often?

Thanks Radu, I'm using the DocBook framework, but everything you said applies mutatis mutandis. So would it also be possible to add pseudo-elements to the element suggestion list, e.g. add a <checklist> element (if <itemizedlist> is legal in the current context) and have it insert <itemizedlist clas...

Re: How can I hide elements that are not used often?

The Java extensions are fine. The idea is that I would customize the editor to omit certain deprecated elements and attributes to reduce the amount of noise in the GUI for the writers. In some cases, it's preferable to do this in the GUI rather than removing the elements from the schema. Thanks, David

Re: Keyboard shortcut for inserting elements

Ok, thanks Radu. I stumbled on that shortly after submitting my previous post. That is indeed much more convenient than using the Element view.

Thanks,
David

Re: How can I hide elements that are not used often?

I agree with Anders. This feature exists in XMetaL and is useful. I would like to be able to specify somewhere on a DTD/schema-wide basis that certain elements should not be available in the Element view and certain attributes should not be available in the Attribute view even though they are in the...

Keyboard shortcut for inserting elements

Hi there, I have a pretty trivial question (I've looked through the help but haven't found the answer). Editing a DocBook document in XML Author, I would like to insert an inline element (e.g. <filename>) without touching the mouse, but I can't find the keyboard shortcut to do that and even in the O...
