Re: Best way to import data from Excel to XML/XSD

Hello,

It is possible to import Excel documents in oXygen using the File > Import > MS Excel File menu.
However, there is no mapping involved, so you can not import Excel documents to follow an XML schema.

Hi Lisa, I'm happy to hear that you've managed to obtain the transtype now. Also your suggestion is much appreciated, so I've already discussed with our documentation team and suggested to add a link to the "Installing a Plugin in the DITA Open Toolkit" section from our User-Guide in order...

Re: How to use an external Dita OT and its transformation?

Hi lisazeng, It is indeed possible to use DITA-OT plugins in order to obtain fine tuned outputs adapted to your expected results. And yes, as you already know, the plugin must be placed in your external DITA-OT/plugins folder and set oXygen to use the custom DITA-OT from its location (things which I...

Hi kanchana, The subtopics generation in the WebHelp output is controlled by a transformation scenario parameter. In order to get the same behavior as in version 18.0, you should edit the WebHelp Responsive transformation scenario you are using and go into the "Parameters" tab. Search for ...

Re: Static Labels

Hi again, Further investigation of this issue pointed us to a known bug in the DITA Open Toolkit 2.2.3, which we bundled in oXygen XML version 18.0 when that older version of oXygen was released. You can find more information about the bug I stumbled upon at: https://github.com/dita-ot/dita-ot/issue...

Re: basic-settings.xsl changes not reflected in PDF output

Hi kbentley, We do not recommend modifying the original files coming by default in the oXygen installation folder or in any of its subfolders, as this could lead to oXygen stability issues or to undesired output when applying further transformations. That's why the suggested way to customize the tra...

Re: [BUG] Webhelp Responsive chunking not working

Hi Caval, This kind of problem might arise when the DITA Map is referencing one/some resource(s) (like: topics, other DITA Maps or even just an image) which could not be found in the same folder with the main DITA map, but might be outside of that folder. For situations like such, we've created a pa...

Hi mhGLEIF. Actually the format and indent action can remove the blank lines between XML elements. The thing is that, by default, the action is set to preserve those lines as they are. Re: Running Oxygen WebHelp on multiple threads

Hi Ann,

I'm afraid that, as the transformations in WebHelp are based on the DITA-OT.
As this basically limits WebHelp to single threading, running WebHelp on multiple threads is not possible for the time being.

There is the "${frameworksDir}" editor variable which basically points to the frameworks directory you have set in oXygen, so you could use that variable.

Re: Edit PHP as XHTML?

Hi Martin, Actually, as PHP is a scripting language, not a markup language (like XML or XHTML), oXygen can not treat it as XML. What can be done indeed (and I suppose that's also the case of the files you might be working with) is to embed PHP code in an XHTML document. You can perform well-formedne...
