Improvements to Data Sources interface
Currently Data Sources suffers from several problems: 1. Once a Data Source is entered and Connections are linked to it, the Data Source cannot be edited without a tedious process of deleting all associated Connections, editing the Data Source, and recreating the Connection. Request: allow Data Sour...

Allow Database Explorer connections to be moved up & down
I would request that the Database Explorer be improved by allowing the Connections to be moved up and down, or even sorted alphabetically. Right now the order is fixed according to the order in which you added the connection.

"Open URL" and "Save to URL" dialog forgets recent servers
The "Open URL" and "Save to URL" dialogs have a dropdown menu labeled "Server URL". However, this menu never shows recent servers. It should show recent servers, like the "File URL" dropdown menu in the same dialog does. Moreover, it should remember the associ...

Re: XQuery Validation problem with imported modules
Hi Adrian,
Thank you very much for your reply. I've passed your response on to the eXist developers. It would be great if the eXist & oXygen devs could find a way!

Re: XQuery Validation problem with imported modules
Wolfgang added in a followup e-mail: Sorry, I was mistaken. The error message is coming from eXist. If I remember well, oXygen just sends the entire query to eXist for validation. However, eXist has no idea where the query source was loaded from. I guess we need to find a way for oXygen to pass a mo...

XQuery Validation problem with imported modules
I am having problems validating XQuery files stored in eXist, if the XQuery file imports an XQuery module via a relative path. I believe this is an oXygen issue, not an eXist issue. If I use a relative path, I can only get a red light during validation, not a green light. For example, this will give...

Thanks for your reply, Sorin. I didn't realize you were already aware of the $function and $module variable behavior. Many thanks.

Re: Bug in XQuery "Outline" display of functions
Sorin, I've retested my hey1-hey5 examples with build 2009101512, and they all appear in the Outline, except that the parameters are blank. They appear in the Outline, for example, as local:hey1(). In further testing, I've found two cases where functions will not appear at all, when a parameter is n...

Re: Bug in XQuery "Outline" display of functions
Hi Sorin, Congrats on the release of oXygen 11! As far as I can tell, this issue I reported above with the XQuery outline not showing certain parameters is not fixed in oXygen 11. For example, the following function declare namespace fo="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Format"; declare namespac...

Re: Erratic indent behavior
Hello, The next version of Oxygen is version 11.0 and it will be released in this month. Regards, Sorin Thanks, Sorin. A licensing question: Mircea's e-mail had said this fix would be included in a maintenance update, which I understood to mean an update covered by the Support & Maintenance Pac...

Re: Erratic indent behavior
Mircea,
I don't suppose you would have an estimate as to when the next maintenance update might be? I'm just trying to schedule the next batch of software updates I'll be asking our IT folks to carry out, and I want to make sure this is included, if possible.
Many thanks,
Joe

Re: Erratic indent behavior
Thanks for your reply, Mircea. I agree that the behavior you describe is the correct behavior, but I'm afraid I wasn't very clear in describing the problem. Here are a few cases to illustrate what I'm seeing. 1. Open a new text file, hit tab and shift tab a few times. The cursor correctly moves from...

Re: XQuery Update
I was just testing out XQuery Update in oXygen and came across this thread. Using build 2009090215, I tried the example: declare variable $target := <whatever>some text</whatever>; copy $t := $target modify rename node $t as "something" return $t But this fails for me with the following er...

Bug in XQuery "Outline" display of functions
Using oXygen XML Editor v10.3 on both XP and Mac OS X (10.6), I have noticed that in some of my XQuery files, the Outline view doesn't show all the functions in the xquery module. For example, in one of my xquery files, I have nearly 35 functions, but the outline view only shows 5! The 5 listed come...

Erratic indent behavior
Using oXygen XML Editor v10.3 on both XP and Mac OS X (10.6), I have been noticing erratic indent behavior. My settings are as follows: Editor > Format > Detect indent on open = off > Indent with tabs = off > Indent size = 4 > Hard line wrap = off > Indent on enter = on > Enable smart enter = on > D...

Re: oXygen enhancements for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard
Hi Sorin, 2. Add .xq and .xql to oXygen's registered filetypes (.xquery, .xml, etc.) so that .xq files have an oXygen icon instead of the generic file icon. The next version of Oxygen will register also .xq and .xql with Oxygen. Thanks for adding .xq to oXygen's registered document types in v9.3. (A...

Re: oXygen enhancements for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard
Thanks for your reply, Sorin, 1. Quick Look - filetypes registered to oXygen should be previewable using Finder's Quick Look. This is Leopard's best feature! Do you mean previewable using Oxygen? The filetypes associated with Oxygen are not some special file types that need special handling. They sh...

oXygen enhancements for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard
Leopard has several wonderful features that I would enhance oXygen's user experience on the Mac: 1. Quick Look - filetypes registered to oXygen should be previewable using Finder's Quick Look. This is Leopard's best feature! Being able to see the full contents of the file while browsing through fold...
