Invoking Author Operation programatically
Hi, I was wondering; is there a mechanism for invoking an AuthorOperation programatically from another AuthorOperation? I have a completed, tested and delivered AuthorOperation that I'm not partciuarly keen to modify. I have another, new operation, that, amongst other functions, needs to offer the u...

Correction:
"I have tried creating the correct dictionary .tdi file in the users home directory and flagging it as read-only, but this just throws an error when starting the dialog. Is there anyway to do this?"

Preventing users adding words to dictionary
Hi, A requirements of phase 2 of our enhnacement project is that users should all be using the same standarised, centrally manged, dictionary for spell checking. I have succesfully dissasembled the standard Oxygen dictionaries, and can now modify them and reassemble to generate the required custom d...

Re: Unwanted reformatting
To clarify, its not the view in the Author mode which is updated, it is the actual XML document as viewable in Text mode. Prior to the insert there is no formatting (no tag indenting, no maximum line lengths etc) after the insert there is formatting (tags are indented, long lines are wrapped etc).

Hello Again, Phase 1 of our project has now been released. Thanks so much for all your assistace so far. I am now dealing with the first round of bug reports - oh joy ;) One bug relates to inserting XML fragments. We have an operation that grabs XML fragments from a third party tool and then inserts...

Re: Displaying whitespace icons in Author mode
I agree with Sorin that whitespaces should be normalised, but apprently they aren't :( I have requested that the users prepare an example of how they would like the Author mode whitesapces to display. Unfortunately they are unlikely to be able to supply this before beginning of next week (don't ask ...

Re: Displaying whitespace icons in Author mode
Sorry to hear that this is not possible. Unfortunatly our users, who aren't sufficiently comfortable to edit directly in XML, do need to see exact whitespace locations as the documents they are editing are print ready document markup. Incorrect spacing, tabs, eol etc can cause layout issues latter i...

Hi, Ive virtually completed the first phase of development for my oxygen enhancement project; thanks so much for the assistance I've received thus far. Large number of errots in 10.3
Hi, I recently chnaged the build process for my Oxygen framework and plugins projects. I am now generating all the enhnacements files automatically. Re: User intercation in custom protocol handler
Thanks for the answer, clear and concise as allways.
I just assumed that without a context (parent window) something ugly would happen when I tried to display the JDialog - I guess that'll teach me for not just trying things out.
Thanks Again.

I don't believe what I am about to describe is possible, but I'vbe been asked to try and implement it anyway, so a definative answer from you guys would be great. I have a custom protocol handler that loads a file via a webservice when oxygen is opened with an appropriate URL. When the file is saved...

Is there an Oxygen 10.2 API mechanism for doing this, we have to support 10.2 and 10.3?
Thanks.

Re: Editing attribute values via Author mode
FYI
The attribute editor you mention also does not trigger a display refresh when the attribute's value is renderd in author mode via a CSS content statement.
Simon.

Re: Editing attribute values via Author mode
OK, I'll keep a look out for that when its released. Unfortunately we are finishing development on Friday this week, so I think I'll have to go with the dummy element workaround until this feature is available.
Thanks for the info.

Re: Editing attribute values via Author mode
Thanks fior the reply, this will just about support the requirements but I suspect the users will want something more dedicated to their needs. Is it possible to edit attribute values which have been displayed in Author mode (using CSS 'content') within Author mode? The displayed attribute values are not selectable or ediatble by default.

I'll try using the method you suggest, I think with slight modification it will do exactly what I'm after.
Many Thanks,
Simon.

Hi, I am attempting to select the text content of the current node's text nodes and only the current nodes, so no text content from child nodes is required. I assumed I could get the node's children using AuthorNode.getContentNodes() and then collect together the text content of all the direct child...

Yes, I have got it and will be looking at it this week, many thanks. I can't guarantee how thorough a workout I will be able to give this feature as it is entirely possible we'll decide we have to go with 10.3 and can't wait for this feature to be releaseed, in which case I am likely to have to stop...
