Re: additional CSS features for Author mode

Hi, Please see some possible answers below: property/value "font-variant: small-caps" We do not yet have support for this, we tried to do this once but we do not seem to have much support in the Java VM for it. But there are free TTF fonts which render with small-caps by default (you can g...

Re: How to create Image maps?

Hi Corinne,

We have not used imagemaps in our DITA content so far so I tested the PDF output with image maps quite some time ago, I might have forgotten what the behavior is.

Re: Custom action to execute XPath search

Hi Dirk, Yes, you have API to run XPaths on the current XML text page and return intervals which can be located back in the content like: @Override public void applicationStarted(StandalonePluginWorkspace pluginWorkspaceAccess) { pluginWorkspaceAccess.addEditorChangeListener(new WSEditorChangeListen...

Re: Relationsship Tables

Hi Kristian, In a relationship table cell you can place more than one topicref. So instead of having two rows in the table you can have one row in which the first cell would contain sibling topicrefs to TopicA and TopicD, the second cell would contain TopicB and the third cell would contain sibling ...

Re: Custom action to execute XPath search

Re: How to create Image maps?

Hi Corinne, The DITA imagemap translates precisely to an HTML image map. By the way, from what I remember this does not work in the PDF output. The DITA 1.2 specs for coordinates: http://docs.oasis-open.org/dita/v1.2/os/spec/langref/coords.html says something like: rect left-x, top-y, right-x, botto...

Re: Controlling layout of editing windows

Hi, I'm afraid we do not have API for this. As a possible (not so elegant) workaround: In the Window menu there is a "Tile Editors Vertically" action. You could try to gain access to it and call it programmatically after you have opened the two files. To gain access to it you can set a men...

Re: Need a good way to disable standard DITA DTDs

Hi Mark, But authors still sometimes create topics with the standard DTDs, which causes problems. What is a good way to disable the standard DTDs, that is as easy as possible to propagate to the whole team? I think that you actually want the new file templates which are provided by the default DITA ...

Re: How to create Image maps?

Hi Corinne,

Not yet. But we do have plans to add a special toolbar action for inserting image maps in Oxygen 18.0 (Spring next year).
I will update this forum thread when this happens.
In the meantime you will need to manually create the image map structure.

Re: publishing PDF with with a source file named *.bookmap fails. Why?

Hi, The specification states that all DITA Maps (and also Bookmaps) "should" have the "ditamap" extension: http://docs.oasis-open.org/dita/v1.2/os/spec/archSpec/definition-of-ditamaps.html Ideally the publishing engine should work no matter what extension is used for DITA Maps an...

Re: Does profiling work with reltables?

Hi Ann,

If you apply a DITAVAL which filters audience="technical" what you did is equivalent to not having the cell at all in the table.
You could have also tried to put the attribute on the entire table row if you wanted the entire row to be ignored.

Re: Does profiling work with reltables?

Dear Ann, Profiling should also work in this case. What DITA OT version are you using? If you are using the one bundled with Oxygen, what Oxygen version are you using? It would be great if you could put together a sample DITA Map with two or three topics + DITAVAL which would exhibit the problem, th...

Re: How to store specific information for a framework

Hi Denis, I would suggest keeping a separate custom XML configuration document separate for this. You could have a separate customizations folder for all your custom resources. If you edit the document type you can add in the Classpath tab a link to that extra folder, then you can use the API ro.syn...

Re: How to modify autocomplete code templates?

Hi Marion,
Why does the auto completion (based on the schema/DTD) only work if you insert an element via the inplace menu in the Author view, but not the Elements view?
I do not understand what you mean, could you give me a small example?

Re: How to modify autocomplete code templates?

Hi Frank,

From what I checked, if an Author action has xpath activation modes and at a certain offset all xpath activation modes evaluate to false() the action is not shown both for the content completion windows and for the Elements view.

Hi Denis, Sorry but we do not have specific API for this. On the same left click event, if the CTRL is pressed ro.sync.e...

Hi Denis, A custom ElementLocatorProvider will not work. The decision whether to open a new XML or to search for the target in the current XML document is not made via that API. Hi,

Sorry about the delay. This is more of a question for the Saxon users list.
There seemed to be a workaround for discarding documents read using the collection function here:

but I'm not sure if this works or not.

Hi Franziska,

You should probably try to set a certain font also on the List used to show the entries in the dialog.
Someting like:

Code: Select all

list.setFont(new Font("Arial", Font.PLAIN, 12))

Dear Calin, So the original XML content looks like this, right? <container> <format>text</format> </container> That line break that you have before the <format> element is still considered to be a whitespace and when the XML is loaded in the Author editing mode it gets converted to a single space. Hi Ann,

Right. Instead of manually coding the conref value you could have used the standard "Insert Content Reference" toolbar action, paste the convert URL in the URL field and choose the table as a target.
