How to pass --suppressXsltNamespaceCheck:on in scenario
Hi there, I have a transformation scenario which is stored as part of a Document Type in a project file, where non-specialist users will run it. This particular scenario triggers the common warning from Saxon: SXXP0005: The source document is in namespace http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0, but none of the...

Re: Cursor/selection/editing issue in 18.0
Since making that change, I haven't seen the problem surface again. I'll keep testing -- it can be a bit elusive -- but previously I couldn't go more than an hour or two without hitting it. Seems like it might be a bad interaction between "Line Wrap" and "Highlight current line"....

I've just disabled that setting, and I'll work with it this morning and see if I see the problem again.
Thanks for your patience.

Re: Cursor/selection/editing issue in 18.0
Yes, I always have line wrap turned on; a lot of my data would be difficult to edit otherwise.

Re: Cursor/selection/editing issue in 18.0
It's still happening using the JRE from 17.1. Looks like this is a bug in the editor itself introduced in 18.0. I'm going back to 17.1 again.

Re: Cursor/selection/editing issue in 18.0
Testing now. I'll report back when I've worked with it for a while. For the record, I'm running:
XML Editor 18.0, build 2016051118, with JRE version 1.8.0_60-b27 (which I took from 17.1).
Cheers,

Still having the problem after the upgrade; it's affecting small files too, now. I've gone back to 17.1 again.
Has anyone else seen this?

Re: Cursor/selection/editing issue in 18.0
I'll try today's point-release before I do that, in case a fix for something else has also fixed this problem. If it's still an issue, I'll try the 17.1 JRE, and failing that, the system JRE.

Cursor/selection/editing issue in 18.0
Since upgrading to Oxygen 18.0 (on Ubuntu 15.10 and 16.04, 64-bit OS and Oxygen, with Oxygen's built-in JRE) I've suffered a persistent interface bug whereby the cursor behaves very erratically; one area of the file (usually where I'm trying to edit) becomes inaccessible, and clicking or arrow-keyin...

Re: Suppress "Special Characters Detected" warning through project file
Sorry, ignore this -- I was confused by the inability to turn off the warning message on the project level; I see I can turn on the special character support and therefore presumably the warning won't appear.

Suppress "Special Characters Detected" warning through project file
Working with Early Modern texts in English, there are a few non-ascii characters which are perfectly normal for us, but which trigger the annoying "Special Characters Detected" warning message. This message is highly confusing for novice users, because they don't think there's anything &qu...

Problem with custom action in Author Mode
HI there, I have a project (xpr) file in which I'm defining some custom actions for Author Mode editing. In one of them, I'm trying to use the ro.sync.ecss.extensions.commons.operations.XSLTOperation operation to run some XSLT on a selected element. The XSLT script location is specified as: ${pd}/ox...

xpath_eval problem in transformation output filename
Hi there, I'm trying to use ${xpath_eval} in a transformation scenario stored as part of a document type. The input file path is: /media/Data/WorkData/ise/svnrepo/trunk/tei/input/noTitlePage/Pref/Pref_F1.txt and the output save I'm using is this: ${xpath_eval(replace('${cfne}', 'crude', 'tei')} When...

Hi Alex,

but I haven't seen the problem again in the last couple of days. Maybe a reboot might have changed something?

Re: Problem with XQuery validation
HI Radu, It's a local XQuery script, and it doesn't make any external calls, although it does define some eXist-specific namespaces. I've also seen another thing that might be a symptom of the same sort of problem, when editing an Ant build.xml file: <<Ant validation should not write on disk. It tri...

Problem with XQuery validation
I've just upgraded to the latest Oxygen (XML Editor 17.1, build 2015111718), and a problem has popped up with automated XQuery validation. I have the default setting for XQuery validation (Saxon-PE XQuery 9.6.0.7), and when I save an XQuery file, I get a series of prompts like this: The XQuery valid...

Re: NVDL and nested fragments
Thanks Radu, that's helpful. I'll need a portable solution (some of this validation happens on a server without Oxygen), so I think I might have to follow George's suggested workaround. This seems a fairly severe limitation of NVDL. Surely it's more common to embed fragmentary content from another n...

NVDL and nested fragments
IN a couple of projects, I'm producing documents with content from multiple namespaces, usually as part of a larger processing chain. For instance, I might have a TEI document which inside its body element contains an XHTML table: [...] <tei:text> <tei:body> <tei:div> <xhtml:table> .... </xhtml:tabl...

Scenario with user-supplied output name
Hi there, I need a scenario to work in the following way: 1. Get some user information before starting (using ${ask}) 2. Pass this into the scenario, which eventually creates an output document whose name is based on one of the user input variables. 3. Open the output document in Oxygen. I can frame...

Re: Custom actions/menu/toolbar in text view
Hi Alex,
This will help for one of the projects for which I'm going to be writing a framework, but I don't think this can be done using just a project file, can it?
I don't actually need access to the text API; these are transformation scenarios I want to run.
Cheers,
Martin

Custom actions/menu/toolbar in text view
It's quite straightforward to create custom actions associated with a document type, and add them to a custom menu and to the toolbar when that document type is open in Author view. But I'd really like to make this functionality available in the text view; most of our editors work almost all the tim...

(Relatively) new problem with NVDL validation of TEI Specs
Hi there, Our TEI specification documents (for elements, attribute classes etc.) are validated using NVDL, because they contain a range of external content such as RNG and Schematron which needs to be validated with non-TEI schemas. An example document would be this one: http://teijenkins.hcmc.uvic....

CSS @page marked invalid?
I'm using Oxygen 16.1 with the CSS validator set to CSS3. When validating this: @page {margin: 1.75cm 0.5cm; padding: 0;} I get this error: E [W3C CSS Validator (CSS 3)] in property : margin Property margin doesn't exist in CSS level 3 but exists in CSS level 3 with Oxygen extensions : 1.75cm 0.5cm ...

Problem with Author CSS mode not finding stylesheet

I also have the document types associated with some CSS for Author Mode, and that ...
