Changing the Related Link order - "topic name "on page" "page number"

Hello, our Japanese translators just informed us that for the Related Links section, our order of "topic name", "on page", and "page number" does not work in Japanese. Example: Snapshots on page 15 They would like to have: 15 on page "Snapshots" A Japanese example: 15 ページの 「スナップショット (Snapshots)」 Can...

PDFs are not comparable with Acrobat Pro (tag problem?)

Hello, since switching to Oxygen, we cannot compare PDFs anymore using Acrobat Pro. We want to provide our translators with compare PDFs, to allow them to proofread their translations while seeing which text is old and which text is new. This worked pretty well with our old PDFs (created with FrameM...

Unable to add new language to WebHelp output (DOTX001W)

Hello, I am trying to figure out how to add our new language (russian) to the webhelp output. When I run the webhelp transformation scenario, I get the following message: [DOTX001W]: No string named 'linkToThis' was found for language 'ru-ru'. Using the default language 'en-us'. Add the mapping betw...

Re: How to show conditional text colors in PDF

Hello Dan, Unfortunately, this feature is not available yet. We plan to update the PDF output to include review information like track changes, comments or user highlights. I will add a request to also include the colors assigned to the conditional text. Just wanted to give my +1 on this request. B...

New ditamaps are referenced as "topicref" instead of "mapref"

Hello, when I am creating a new ditamap via right-clicking in the DITA Maps Manager > Append child / Insert After > New > Map template , the ditamap is inserted as "topicref". I would expect it to be a "mapref". Is this a bug or are some settings wrong in my Map template? If I use the Map Reference ...

Re: Search doesn't find text inside referenced elements

That is a great idea. It would also help to have more focus on the topics that only contain reusable content. They normally never appear in any of our ditamaps.

Thanks Radu!

Search doesn't find text inside referenced elements

If I want to find a certain term or sentence, I open the ditamap in the DITA Maps Manager, press Ctrl+F, type in the search term and click Find All. This works very well. However, if the term I am looking for is inside a referenced element (section, parml, etc.), the search is not able to find it. A...

Re: Trigger Author Action on save?

You are right, obviously. I guess I read what I wanted to read. My intention was to only have one revised element that is always updated on save when changes were made. I'll try to adapt the XPath expression to my use case. Thanks :) Edit: Here is what I did for my use case "Update the revised date ...

Including the topic path and title in the PDF output

In the past (using FrameMaker to create PDFs), we provided our translators with the translation project and a PDF. The PDF was our full english manual with one customization. The path and file name of each topic were included in the PDF. This looked like this: Topic Title BlaBla BlaBla topic descrip...

Re: Trigger Author Action on save?

Thank you for your suggestion Alex. I just tried it but it didn't work.

Still a new revised element is added if the old revised element has a date older than today's date.

Were you able to make it work, Lief?

Re: DITA Maps Manager - Displaying the file path instead of the topic title

For some topics that are shared between several projects, we use shared topic folders. Having the file path visible in the DITA Maps Manager would make it easy to quickly check whether a topic is located in the "shared" folder. I like your suggestion ( fileName.dita - full/path/to/fileName.dita ) ve...

Re: DITA Maps Manager - Displaying the file path instead of the topic title

One reason for this request is the fact that we publish our documents in several languages, including Japanese, Russian and Chinese. When opening a ditamap in one of those languages, the path and file name of a topic would help me much more than the topic title.

DITA Maps Manager - Displaying the file path instead of the topic title

Hello, is it possible to display the file path instead of the topic title in the DITA Maps Manager? The file path including the topic title is briefly visible when opening a ditamap in the DITA Maps Manager. But then the topic title replaced this file path. We are currently switching from FrameMaker...
