Re: Responsive WebHelp - <properties> Table Outputs Incorrectly

Hi, I tested your samples and indeed there seems to be some inconsistency in the way in which the publishing engine treats properties tables, I added an issue for it: https://github.com/dita-ot/dita-ot/issues/3113 Thing is that probably most people using properties tables use them with 3 columns &qu...

Re: Errors when performing a transformation

Hi, The DITA Open Toolkit engine which produces the output from the DITA content indeed may issue such information messages. In the Oxygen Preferences->"DITA / Logging" page you can uncheck the "DITA-OT info" checkbox to avoid presenting such information messages separately in th...

Re: Restricting feedback from DITA Map Completeness Check

Hi Ann, We do not have a setting in the preferences to avoid issuing various errors. When using the "Completeness Check" action you do have the choice to use it along with profiling conditions or multiple DITAVAL filters. An alternative is to create a plugin for Oxygen which filters out va...

Re: Setting up transformations for external data sources

Hi Kate, So you configured a webdav connection and you opened from the Data Source Explorer the main DITA Map in the DITA Maps manager view, right? And you have your custom DITA OT distribution. Can you send us via email (support@oxygenxml.com) the entire output received in the DITA OT console view?...

Re: Set default value of an attribute

Hi, It is incorrect to make changes directly to the DITA DTDs. Usually in such cases you should construct a DITA DTD specialization plugin (with custom public and system ID mappings for all your topics). In this particular case, instead of changing the DITA DTDs to set a default attribute value for ...

Hello Dave, Please see some answers below: How do I include JPEG files? Not familiar with CommonMark does that flavor of markdown allow inclusion of image files? Re: Can OxygenXML be a solution for Research and Testing Reports?

Hi Dave, One option is to batch convert your Markdown files to other formats like HTML or DITA. We have a free add-on for Oxygen which does that: https://github.com/oxygenxml/oxygen-resources-converter Once you convert a Markdown file to a DITA topic you can use the predefined support in Oxygen to p...

Hi, Coming back to this as I've had more time to look a little bit into the German abbreviation problem. Re: Named destination to an object in the PDF output

Hi Marvin, If you want to add named destinations to PDFs without re-generating them from the DITA content, there might be various libraries which can be used to load and modify a PDF. For example for our Oxygen Chemistry engine (which builds a PDF by using CSS to customize XML content) we use the fr...

Re: Named destination to an object in the PDF output

Hi,

From what I think those IDs defined on the XSL-FO elements are somehow still inside the PDF (as they are used for internal linking) but they cannot be used as outside anchors (as they have not been defined as named destinations).

Re: PDF Table of Contents formatting

Hi Victoria, You seem to be using the classic PDF output which is not CSS based (actually the CSS-based PDF output was not available in Oxygen 18.1 anyway). The PDF output is based on genarating XSL-FO output from DITA and then using the Apache FOP processor. Are you using a custom DITA Open Toolkit...

Re: Filtering on/off content dynamically

Hi Ann,

We do not have such a filter possibility available by default in WebHelp. We plan to look into adding faceted search (probably based on some metadata specified at topic or at map level) some time in the future so we'll update this forum thread when we do.

Re: pagebreak before element identified with attribute

Hi, The XSLT is applied on a DITA document and it produces XSL-FO output. Using "xsl:copy-of" means that the DITA <title> element will be copied to the output XSL-FO as a <title> element instead of being processed as an XSL-FO element. My recommendation: <xsl:template match="title[@fo...

Re: Elements are only converted in FO/PDF output, not HTML

Re: Named destination to an object in the PDF output

Hi, I think adding a new element would be the way to go. "fo:wrapper" can be included mostly anywhere and it does not change the layout in any way so if you test it and it works you could use that. Indeed the original @id attribute set on an element is changed to an unique ID in the transf...

Re: Elements are only converted in FO/PDF output, not HTML

Hi Marvin, So: So alternatively, I could just add that class to the <definitionlist> element? This is not how things usually work, the @class attribute usually has a default value coming from the DTD associated with the XML document. So your DITA DTD specialization (which added these new elements li...

Re: Named destination to an object in the PDF output

Hi Marvin, I looked more into this and you are right, sorry about my confusion, somehow besides generating an XSL-FO element with a certain ID, you also need to add a fox:destination element to defined that ID as a named anchor. So from my tests the XSL-FO output would need to look something like th...

Hi, Usually the publishing stylesheets match the DITA element based on their @class attribute value. As an example in the XSLT stylesheet DITA-OT/plugins/org.dita.html5/xsl/topic.xsl there is the XSLT template which matches the DITA <dl> element: <xsl:template match="*[contains(@class, ' topic/...
