ZEN CODING request!

Zen Coding is probably the most fantastic way to write XML (and other structured languages) I've ever seen! If you don't know Zen Coding, the best way to learn about it is to watch the demo video: http://vimeo.com/7405114 …and then check out the homepage if you want to learn more: http://code.googl...

Set oXygen's Diff programs as default for command line?

Is it possible to set the Diff programs from oXygen as the default to be invoked from the command line? What about the fact that there are 2 programs—one for directories, one for files? I'm on a MacBook running Mac OS X 10.6. The command line is GNU bash, version 3.2.48(1)-release (i386-apple-darwin...

Author Mode - Numbering of XIncluded documents reset

The Context I'm editing a DocBook “Book” element. It contains Parts, lots of Chapters, and lots of Sections. Therefore, I have used plenty of XIncludes to manage all the content better. The Problem However, when I go to an included file in Author mode, the numbering for the Chapter/Section/whatever...

Re: Upgrade DocBook XSL in /frameworks safely?

By “override” do you mean that it's safe to copy the new ones over the old ones?

(Basically, what I'm asking is if oXygen's built-in DocBook XSL was customized for oXygen…)

Just wondering if I download the latest DocBook XSL, can I replace oXygen's older version without breaking anything?

Darn. :?

Well I guess that's okay. I understand Calabash is the next tool to receive first-class status from oXygen, and that's huge. I look forward to it!

Status of Bazaar (bzr) version control in oXygen 11?

Since oXygen 11 is coming out in the next week or three, I was wondering if it will provide support for Bazaar version control?

Oh, this is great news!

Do you know when the next version is coming out? (Or rather, Can you tell me when the next version is coming out? 8) )

Is the next version a “point release” or a major upgrade?

Customize autocomplete for XProc?

I'm still learning XProc and I love it. But it is definitely very different from anything I've worked with before, so I wanted to figure out a way to tell me what all my options are for each step. Is it possible in oXygen to set a preference that, when using autocomplete, automatically populates all...

XProc - problem using <make-absolute-uris>

I just started using Xproc, and I am very excited by the features it has to offer. I recently ran into what I *think* is a simple problem. Here's the setup: … I have the combined the outputs of several <directory-list> steps into one document that looks something like the following: <directory name=...

Reverse-generating from a TOC (Table of Contents)?

There are plenty of existing tools to scan an XML document and generate a Table of Contents according to the document's structure. (Specifically, I'm talking about DocBook 5—but it could be something else too.) I'm wondering if anybody knows of an XSL stylesheet that will do the reverse: use a TOC t...

Anybody use DITA for taking notes in class?

It seems to me that school subjects have topics and subtopics that are analogous to DITA. I wondered if it would be feasible to take notes in DITA, allowing the DITA Open Toolkit to output some useful collections of documents that allow access to everything you've studied. Anybody tried using DITA t...

What is your experience with XLink?

A brief rant… I know XLink never really got much popularity. The only significant example of it in the wild that I can think of is DocBook 5, which AFAIK only uses Xlink's basic capabilities (basic HTML-style links). However, I think XLink's “extended link” capabilities are grossly underrated. I bl...

Re: Any way for DocBook to contain other XML grammar?

I guess I could use XInclude with XPath. That would make sense, and allow me to include an entire external document, or just the part that is relevant. The trouble is, those external documents are not DocBook, so even when I use XInclude, the validator sees that the referenced file is not DocBook an...

Any way for DocBook to contain other XML grammar?

I'm working on a personal project that is part article and part data. The article portion is written in DocBook 5. The data part is a custom schema (written in Relax-NG compact, if it matters). My question is: While I'm sitting there writing my article, and I start a new <section>, I want to referen...

How do you add XInclude to a Relax-NG Compact schema?

Two part question: Getting the schema. If there's an XInclude schema in existence, where is it? (Or, how would you write one in RNC? I'm sure it would be pretty easy, but I don't trust myself to write it with the highest possible degree of reusability…reusability is vital!) Using the schema. Once ...

Re: Support for bazaar version control (bzr)

Yep, I've used the SVN tool in Oxygen. It's pretty good. Regarding BZR vs SVN, a short answer would be, BZR can do everything SVN can do and more. That means that BZR has the ability to please SVN loyalists as well as those interested in its unique features. There are several well-written pages on t...

Re: Problems after upgrading to v10 with Saxon

Whoops, nevermind the second item! My fault.

I made the silly mistake of moving @xpath-default-namespace, so that none of my templates were selecting anything, hence the empty output.

I'll remember not to move that around in the future, especially at the same time as an upgrade of my IDE. :)

Problems after upgrading to v10 with Saxon

Two things: First, I have an Ant buildfile that stored the classpath of Saxon as [oxygenDirectory]/lib/saxon9.jar . Should it now be [oxygenDirectory]lib/saxon9sa.jar ? After the upgrade, a transformation that previously had no problems now outputs a blank XML file. There is no output at all except ...

How do you use the debugger?

I've always just used the debugger to test output, and for the handy feature of clicking on the output and having the source/XSL file go to the line that was responsible for the item I clicked on. But there are lots of things that look extremely useful on the bottom of the debugger, but I don't know...

Don't expand all categories when opening Preferences

Personally I find it a little overwhelming to have every category expanded whenever I open Preferences. It would be nice if everything were collapsed. I'm much more comfy "drilling down" from a top-level list of categories than I am visually searching through a much longer list. I don't know if this...

Search-Replace: default to “Selected Lines Only”

It would be incredibly helpful if Oxygen would automatically limit its Search-and-Replace functionality to the selected line(s) only whenever the user opened this dialog with lines selected.

For people who don't like this, a simple toggle could be provided in Preferences.
