Re: Default extension for docbook graphic fileref attribute
Hi Radu, Thanks for the reply. I don't know if the described scenario is such an usual one. This is the first report so far. We will discuss it. Well if you google for 'docbook fileref extension' you will see that I am not alone in using extension-less filerefs. It is quite normal for docbook proces...

Default extension for docbook graphic fileref attribute
Hi, My docbook processing software doesn't expect the graphic element's fileref attribute to have an extension because it will add one itself (.eps because my software is producing PS/PDF files) - I believe that (certainly used to be) quite a common thing to do. It would be great if author mode coul...

Menu item/key binding to insert ids
Hi, Sorry if this is already possible but I would like oxygen to be able to provide ID completion (insert ID string at the current cursor position) - the IDs could be found by looking at elements' attributes of type ID. Ideally, you could specify only IDs in the current doc or in all the docs open. ...

alt-/ does not invoke dynamic abbrevs (or anything)
Hi, You kindly agreed to my suggest that the keybinding to start the new dynamic abbreviation function (aka learnt words) should be configurable (and set to alt-/ by default) but in the 7.0 release it's labeled as "start tag insight" in the menu short cut keys dialog and keying alt-/ doesn...

No entity completion in 7.0 beta
With the 7.0 beta release, although I have tag insight and show all entities enabled, nothing happens when I type & in my document.
With 6.2 I get the popup entity completion list as expected.

6.2 fails to create directory ~/.profile on Linux
I notice that when 6.2 starts on my Linux box that it gripes about failing to create a directory called .profile in my home directory. It fails because there is already a file of that name present.
Does it matter that the directory isn't created? What's it for?

Line wrap + tag completion zaps <
While editing DocBook documents with oxygen 6.1 with Hard Line Wrap and tag completion enabled I have noticed that if you are positioned at the end of a line and you enter <sometagprefixTAB then when the tag completes, the leading < is missing. For example, if the line looks like this and you type <...

Dynamic expansion of words (like emacs dynamic abbrevs)
Emacs has a fine feature called 'dynamic abbrevs'. This is bound to the alt-/ key and, when invoked after typing a few prefix chars, it searches back through the current document (and other docs of the same type) for a word that starts with the same prefix and uses it to complete the current word. T...

Oxygen can't find a print service but netbeans can
Hi, On my Linux box with a CUPS based printing system I have never managed to print from oxygen (it always comes up with a dialog that says "No print service found") and was led to believe from previous posts on the forum that this is a problem with Java 1.5. However, I can print from netb...

What I would like is that within a space preserving section, hitting the enter key moves the cursor to the start of the next line and not indenting it with respect to the surrounding elements. The indentation of the surrounding elements is meaningless as far as the contents of the programlisting or ...

Err, I can't get it to misbehave today but yesterday when the entity completion window popped up it was wider than the text editor window (and that window is wider than 100 characters). So something odd was happening. Can't reproduce it today but if it happens again I will post another message. I ha...

Disable auto-indent on enter within preserve space elements
I find it annoying that oxygen will insert indentation when enter is hit within a space preserving element (such as programlisting in docbook). Is it possible to have a preference that disables the automatic indentation when enter is entered within such elements?
Thanks,
Mark

Hi George, Thanks for the reply. The Ctrl+I shortcut doesn't help much because: 1. it only re-indents the selection and does not reformat the text (break long lines, remove extra spaces). 2. You have to use the mouse to select the current element and it's contents before it can be indented. What I w...

Reformat current element content keybinding?
Hi, Trying to use oxygen to edit DocBook documents and I want to be able to re-format the text within the current enclosing element (para, etc.). Can't find any way of doing that without reformatting the entire document. It would be very convenient if a keybinding could be setup to just reformat (an...

Entity completion list is wrecked by long entity text
Me again, Just noticed that if you try to use entity completion (type &) with text entities that have very long definitions (several lines of text) then the popup menu is unusable. I suggest that the width of the popup menu is limited to something sensible (< 40 chars of content perhaps?) Indeed...

Help - newbie fails to use DTDSystemID
Hi folks, Just started using oxygen and I want to be able to edit/validate docbook fragments. I have a local DTD that defines a bunch of entities and then references the real DocBook DTD. I have tried the following at the top of the fragment file but the validation fails: <?xml version="1.0&quo...
