Re: Which Editor?

Hi Radu, thank you for your reply. You seem to indicate that the Oxygen XML forum is not suited to ask the community for help. Which public XML-related user list would you deem more appropriate for my kind of question?
Best regards.

Which Editor?

I used to be part of the DITA community and a happy user of OxygenXML. I certainly lack information on the progress of the OxygenXML family of tools over the last 5 years. Situation: These days my customers work with a specific XML dialect named XDatenfelder which is used in the German public admini...

Re: Figure and Table numbering

I made use of Dan's suggestion and added a few lines to my custom css file according to option (2) in his post "There are two solutions:" Now it appears as though the references to figures and tables starts from "1" with every chapter. For example in the third chapter there is a ...

Re: Diff Files and Dirs: Add Ignore Element order for XML documents

Hi Florin, out of curiosity (and because I could very well need this feature): Did your feature request make it to market? I use oxygen file diff v18 but do not seem to be able to diff xml files such that the change of order of neighbouring xml elements is not considered to be a difference. Cheers, ...

Can webhelp with feedback be published with an oracle db? We are aware that the instructions are based on the use of MySQL DB or MariaDB but operate in an enterprise environment where both are not available; oracle db is!

oxygen/jre version matrix

Is there a version matrix that shows the minimum JRE requirements imposed by the Oxygen editor? For example, a download of "oXygen XML Editor Version 18.0" comes with "Java SE 8u72" (as of Feb 22nd, 2017). If it's downloaded to a machine with a legacy installation of JRE, will it...

Re: Spell check - use two dictionaries in parallel

Hi Bogdan, I appreciate the pace at which you replied to my request. I am afraid though that your suggestion will prove impractical for the project at hand, possibly for all projects that I am aware of. Authors are subject matter experts, they are supposed to focus on contents while writing. Asking ...

Spell check - sharing a dictionary within a team

A project team needs to spell check the DITA topics they authored. Quiete a few terms need to be "learned" as they are not part of the standard dictionary. I'd like to distribute the user specific dictionary to all project team members, e.g. using SVN. However it seems as if the dictionary...

Spell check - use two dictionaries in parallel

As is most common in software documentation in Germany, there is a large percentage of English terms used to describe programming language elements. This leads to a situation where upon activating the spell checker, English terms are marked as unknown. Oh, the dread of making the maching "learn...

Re: Author mode - keyref, href

Hi Radu, I will try your fix for the first behaviour later. For that I need a fresh install of Author 12.0. With my current installation your fix doesn't work. As to upgrading, the problem is not a licensing issue but has to do with customizations that would need to be redone after an upgrade. And n...

Re: Author mode - keyref, href

Hi Radu, thanks for your reply. I tried your fix for the first behaviour but could not get it to work. I still see the graphical link (chain) symbol followed by a triangle symbol pointing to the left followed by a triangle symbol pointing to the right. Here's a part of my file OXYGEN_INSTAL_DIR/fram...

Author mode - keyref, href

Currently I work with Oxygen Author 12.0. I add DITA keyrefs and DITA xrefs using the author mode and the "link" button (that looks like an underlined letter "a"). This is what I (1) see in text mode, (2) see in author mode, (3) anticipate in author mode for a DITA key reference:...

Re: SVN Client Update Circle

Adrian, thank you for your detailed reply and helpful suggestions. We may eventually contact "support" as you suggested. As the SVN client is not well received by non-technical authors (I didn't mention that before) it may just as well turn out that a different and more intuitive tool (Tor...

SVN Client Update Circle

Re: Author: CSS pseudo elements displayed as table-cell

Hi Radu,
I currently use Oxygen Author v12. There still seems to be no support for "rendering before or after generated content for table rows". Am I missing something? Is there perhaps a new workaround available?
Cheers, Aaron.

ClearCase integration of XML Author

Problem: We don't seem to be able to edit our ClearCase repository based files with "XML Author" (standalone). We might do the check out/check in outside of this tool but consider this to be to clumsy for day to day use. Additional information: We use the XML Author plugin for Eclipse toge...

Problems view doesn't show problems

For the last days I laboured on customizing stylesheets in order to generate PDF output from DITA files that I edited with Oxygen. Now my expectation was that switching to the Author editor and loading the same DITA MAP files and configuring the same transformation scenario the same output gets gene...
