Where are oxygen author application log files?
We are running into an issue where Oxygen Author 20.1 freezes and doesn't open the request file. The file opens up fine in notepad, so we know the file isn't corrupted. The only way to close Oxygen Author is by end tasking it in the Task Manager. I would like to look at the oxygen logs to see what p...

Re: Adding Xref to a map in topic
Hi Radu, Thank you for your response, we are publishing to PDF and yes the title of the xref resolved for topics and also for maps, if the href value is a single GUID instead of GUID#GUID. This is also true while editing in Oxygen and preview in SDL Tridion Docs 13.2 (Publication Manager). Please ad...

Adding Xref to a map in topic
out of the box adding a link to a map to a topic in Oxygen Author, I get a href attribute with filename#GUID, and similarly in SDL (CMS) we get GUID#GUID which doesn't resolve to a title. If the href is manually updated after the xref is inserted to just a single GUID, it resolves to title and works...

Use web service to transform XML in Oxygen Author
We would like to use a web service to HTTP POST the topic XML from Oxygen Author 20.1 and accept back via HTTP GET a pdf file attachment with MIME type of "application/pdf" and display it to user in Acrobat Reader DC. I have looked through the forms and found a few suggestions to writing a java exte...

Re: InsertFragment to map/topicref
Hi Radu, I would like to insertFragment when inserting topicrefs, currently we only get <topicref></topicref> when we add the element using element selector, I would like it to add <topicref><topicmeta><hwHeading></hwHeading></topicmeta></topicref>, where hwHeading is a specialized tag. The insert F...

Re: InsertFragment to map/topicref
Hi Radu, Selecting Windows | Show View | Elements opens a windows to select Elements to insert (this is what I had referred to as Element selector). I tried inserting topicref by double clicking it in that window. This adds <topicref></topicref> tags, and right clicking on the page icon that is inse...

Re: Add CSS to non DITA XML
Hi Radu,
Cals tables are not formatted in Oxygen for non DITA XML, the tags don't have any class attributes. How can I style them in Oxygen Author 20.1?
Thank you in advance for you help.

Add hotkey/keyboard shortcut for Smart Paste
Our content developers use the Paste to Plain Text feature extensively and would like to associate a hotkey/keyboard shortcut to it. I was able to find an option in the Document Type | Author | Actions. Where could I configure this?

Re: Add CSS to non DITA XML
Hi Radu,
I followed the steps in your blog post and tried adding "!important" to the css, with no luck. Also noticed that authorDefault.css already has "!important" specified for all its CSS. I still get "authorDefault.css" in CSS inspector.

Add CSS to non DITA XML
I was able to add CSS to specialized DITA content, followed the same steps for regular XML content and the styling doesn't apply. This CSS is based on elements, instead of classes. Extending the DITA Document Type Association didn't work. I added the CSS to Oxygen 20.1 was able to select is from the...

Re: JSOperation activexobject
Hi Radu, The previous implementation with an ActiveXObject, presented a user with a dialog with fields to enter a number and two set of units, one which applied to the number entered and one which was calculated. I am trying to port over customization we had in XMetal to Oxygen, would like suggests on how to tap into ActiveXObject functionality in Oxygen. I have tried the JSOperation Author Actions with no success, I get a ReferenceError for ActiveXObject. How else can this be implemented?

Re: add attribute with value on element insert
Hi Radu,
I may need to rephrase by question, the issue I am running into is the Author Action is not triggered, when I select draft-comment Element for the Element selector or when I hit Enter on my keyboard and select draft-comment element.

Re: add attribute with value on element insert
Hi Radu,
We are using XML Author 20.1, build 2018101517. And it still doesn't insert it upon inserting the element. I setup a shortcut key to invoke the action, when used adds the author name, but not the timestamp.
Thanks in advance...

add attribute with value on element insert
I am trying to figure out the right place to configure attribute defaults upon element insert. I would like to add "time" to draft-comment tags and auto populate author upon tag insertion. I have a custom framework created, with storage set to external so it can easily be distributed to other users.
