Thanks for the feedback, Greg and Julien.
I use the default XSL-FO transformation with a few slight tweaks. I'll try the troubleshooting tip. In the meanwhile, I went back to another project with a known history of PDF'ing properly and was able to get my new outline to PDF.

PDF: Fails with XSL-FO but succeeds with HTML5&CSS
I have a project that succeeds when I use the transformations " DITA Map WebHelp Responsive " and " DITA Map PDF - based on HTML & CSS ". However it fails when I use " DITA Map PDF - based on XSL-FO ". Unfortunately, I need to use the XSL-FO transformation. I cannot decipher the transformation probl...

Re: Published WebHelp: file not accessible
I figured out the problem--it was a simple (silly) mistake, easily corrected. But the output from OxygenXML was very unexpected--I don't know if it points to a bug in your product or in DITA. Let me try to describe it succinctly: In constructing my new project, I created a new top level ditamap at t...

Re: Published WebHelp: file not accessible
I have done a validation, and aside from some warnings, I don't see anything that would prevent the WebHelp from being generated successfully. As I mentioned, I've been generating WebHelp every so often as I create the new structure, and previous outputs were successful. Oddly, I created a PDF and i...

Published WebHelp: file not accessible
This could be a simple problem, but it's baffling me: I am creating a new project and am compiling a WebHelp every so often to check the output. It worked fine for a while, but suddenly I am getting this in my browser: Your file couldn't be accessed It may have been moved, edited or deleted. ERR_FIL...

Page breaks within tables
Ever since switching to OxygenXML (and DITA), I've been wrestling with how the PDF engine decides on page breaks. Here is an example: in the attached screenshot, you'll see that there's plenty of space to include the row on the left side page, yet the rendering engine decided to move it to the next ...

Transformation fails after upgrading to v22.1
I just upgraded to v22. I preserved what I thought were all my customizations, but when try to create a PDF using XSL-FO, I get this fatal error: System ID: /home/clum/repos/docs-cust/PHEMI_Central/phemi_central_spitfire_ui.ditamap Scenario: DITA Map PDF - based on XSL-FO - Copy Input file: /home/cl...

How to locate position of a topic within DITA Map Manager?
This must be simple, but I cannot find the solution. I can use the Open/Find Resource command to search for a specific topic within my DITA Map. From the search results, I can double-click to open the topic. But I'd like to know where in my map is the topic located. How can I do this?

How to debug the CSS?
This is a follow-up to a problem I posted several months ago: https://www.oxygenxml.com/forum/topic21555.html It was suggested that I debug the CSS using instructions from here: https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/22.1/ug-pdf-css/topics/dcpp_debugging_the_css.html#dcpp_debugging_the_css However, ...

How to exclude text using both a DITIVAL file and "props"?
My project uses two DITIVAL files to toggle between terminology used for two area of our product. They are used for shared topics where only a name differs. For example, we tag text with props="area1" and props="area2" . We then use two DITIVAL files that contain: <prop action="exclude" att="props" ...

How to find only text that is visible in Author mode?
I need to do a massive search & replace in my project to uppercase specific terms. However, I only want to change the visible text, as seen in Author mode. Not text that is part of directory paths or file names, as seen in Text mode. Is this possible to do?

Re: How to prevent line breaks with "codeblock"?
Thanks for the info. Now I'm having a difficult time trying to identify which ".css" file to add this code snippet.
Is there a default .css that Oxygen uses for PDF? Or do I need to create a new custom .css for PDF?

Font issues in Mac vs. Linux installations of Oxygen
I have OxygenXML installed on both a Linux desktop and Macbook Pro. The Linux box is correctly configured to produce PDFs like how we want it. However it's been more of a chore to get the Mac to produce correct PDFs. I've reached a point where the Mac almost produces the same output. But there is a ...

Forcing page breaks before a topic
I am trying to get certain topics to start on a new page in my PDF. I found this page with instructions: https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/20.1/ug-pdf-css/topics/dcpp_page_breaking.html It tried step 3 under "Page Breaks": In your DITA topic, set the @outputclass attribute on the topic root (or...

Topic referenced as "resource only" warnings
When I validate my project, I see a slew of informational warnings like this: "Topic <name> is referenced in the DITA map as "resource-only". Any cross reference to it will result in a broken link" I found a response back in 2017 that seems to address this: https://www.oxygenxml.com/forum/topic14262...

Re: Text that should have been hidden by "props" still showing
Hi Radu. Yes--I am often frustrated by the fact that my keyboard shortcuts stop working in Oxygen. For example, CMD-X, CMD-V, etc. stops working for cut and paste. I will try your CMD-Tab trick to see if that helps. I have experienced issues where OxygenXML will just "freeze" for about 10 seconds an...

Re: Text that should have been hidden by "props" still showing
Very strange--I tried it again just now and I cannot reproduce the problem. The marked content is being hidden.
Perhaps it was a random glitch in my system? My Mac and Oxygen have been experiencing random freezes lately.

Text that should have been hidden by "props" still showing
In my project, I've defined several props, including one called "PDF Hide", which shows as props="pdf-hide" in the code. In my PDF transformation, I have set the filter to "Exclude from output all elements with": props = pdf-hide props = PDF Hide At work on my Linux machine, the props filtering is w...

Re: Automatically switch root map based on open ditamap
That is a good, concise explanation, Radu! It makes sense to me.
Ironically, it's much easier for me to comprehend your "if not using keys" example. Sounds natural to me. Maybe it's because this is how I did this before, prior to DITA!

Thank you, Radu! It turns out that my "Link with editor" button was turned off. This is exactly what I wanted. I have a very common problem, but haven't figured out if there is a feature to help me out. If not, this is a good feature request. Automatically switch root map based on open ditamap
I am working with different ditamaps in the Map Manager and I have different topics open. One annoying thing I've encountered is when I switch between ditamaps, I must also constantly remember to change the root map. If I don't, my open topics suddenly start showing a slew of "Key not found" as the ...

Re: Profiling attributes suddenly disappeared
Yes, things worked normally again when I changed the DITA Type Document from " DITA " to " *DITA* ", or when I changed it to the actual custom DITA document that I had created (it's better to use "*DITA*" though). Radu said the preferences should have defaulted to "*DITA*" in the first place, but mi...
