Looking for a task-management tool for Oxygen

I'd like to track the to-do tasks I have yet to complete in a complete XML guide that's made up of docbook XML topics. I don't want to store the list of tasks in yet another tool. I'm also not interested in just adding comments on each page, because then I have to visit each and every page to know i...

Re: How to edit Smithy files in OxygenXML?

That would be sweet, as that way I don't need to open up a second editor to handle the files that I work with alongside my documentation files. Thanks!

How to edit Smithy files in OxygenXML?

More and more API definitions are defined using the "Smithy" specification. https://awslabs.github.io/smithy/index.html Is there a supported way to edit those kind of files?

Thanks much!

Re: Using an entity for block of XML destroys my pretty printing layout

No, I don't think it is. I just upgraded to 23.1, and entered this: <documentation target="operation-name$parameter"> &some-entity; </documentation> where &some-entity; is an entity with a <para>...</para> as the outermost tags. However, when I press CTRL-SHIFT-P to "pretty pr...

Re: Opening ulinks in the browser

Global settings also include all of our custom add-ons and frameworks. One of those is likely the culprit. Our engineering team that owns and created the add-ins is investigating now.

Re: Opening ulinks in the browser

I just tried that. I created a topic with only this content: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE article PUBLIC "-//OASIS//DTD DocBook XML V4.5//EN" "http://docbook.org/xml/4.5/docbookx.dtd"> <article> <title/> <sect1> <title/> <para><ulink url=&q...

Re: Opening ulinks in the browser

I am running the latest version, and the problem persists. When I get a chance, I'll try saving all my options, then resetting them to see if that addresses anything.

Re: Opening ulinks in the browser

We do indeed have a customized DocBook framework, but that is managed by another team. What do I need to have them look for to address this? Thank you!

How to open a <ulink> in the browser instead of a new editing tab in Oxygen?

When I insert a <ulink> in my docbook XML, it is NEVER to another topic that I would want to edit. It's to a Web page that I would want to open in a browser. However, whenever I link one of those links in the Author mode editor, it insists on opening up the page in a new Editor tab. How can I tell O...

Using an entity for block of XML destroys my pretty printing layout

I know you can use an entity to represent both inline text and an entire block of XML tags. When I use an entity to represent a large block of XML, and the do the CTRL-SHIFT-P to "pretty print" the XML, the entity is treated as an "inline" thing and (even if what comes before it ...

Re: How to view GiHub flavored Markdown in Oxygen?

I am running version 22. I hadn't thought to try the HTML tab. That did indeed solve my issue. Thanks! :D

How to view GiHub flavored Markdown in Oxygen?

I'm trying to view .md files in Oxygen, but whatever support is there by default can't handle a 3rd level header, which many GitHub markdown files have (and I need to use!).

Is there a way to update the support to a more thorough implementation of .md files?

Thanks much!

Re: Opening ulinks in the browser

I'm running Oxygen 20, and I'm seeing a related problem. If the URL ends in a filename with .html, then it opens in the browser just fine. For example, https://docs.aws.amazon.com/index.html works fine and opens in the browser. However, if I try to test the link https://docs.aws.amazon.com (which is...

Is there a plug-in that supports editing Restructured Text?

Is there a plugin, or some supported way of editing Restructured Text within Oxygen Editor?

I can't seem to find one.

RST is based on a very simple set of rules, but enough so that having automatic enforcement with Oxygen would be nice.

Thank you very much in advance!

How to assign a keystroke to "Insert Tag" rather than "Surround with Tag"

We use the <xref> tag extensively in our docs to link to topics in the same guide. There is no text, only a linkend and endterm attribute pair that we have to fill out. I use this (and other similar tags) so often that I'd very much like to assign a keystroke to a general "Insert Tag" func...

Please make accepting revision marks easier!

When stepping through edits, there is no way to easily go through them all. You have to first select a revision from the Review pane to highlight it. Then you can review it. Then you have to click the Accept or Reject button which is in a different place based on how many lines the change takes up i...
