Issue with Web Author spellcheck
Hello, We are having an issue in Web Author (version 22.1) running in Websphere traditional. Specifically, the spellcheck never returns any spelling errors. In the logs, we are seeing the following appear during a spellcheck operation: The hunspell library or dictionary could not be loaded, due to j...

Re: Web Author Component 23.1.1.0 fails to start up in Websphere Traditional
Thanks for the information. Unfortunately upgrading WAS or switching software is not currently an option.
Is there an official list of supported WAS versions by Web Author release? Having that information would be really helpful.
Thanks again,
Dave

Web Author Component 23.1.1.0 fails to start up in Websphere Traditional
Hello, We have been using the Web Author Component 22.1 in Websphere Traditional 8.5.5.16 for some time. When attempting to run 23.1.1 in the same environment, we get the following exceptions on startup, and the Web Author application / admin fails to load: CWNEN0047W: Resource annotations on the fi...

Re: Screen reader accessibility of tags, review comments, and validation issues
Thank you for the information. We were able to implement your suggestion of using CSS to clue in a 508 user of the comment anchor's beginning and end. Would there be a way to somehow also implement this for validation issues as well? Thank you for adding a feature request to make the comment hover t...

Screen reader accessibility of tags, review comments, and validation issues
Hello, we're using Web Author Component 21.1.1 with Accessibility Optimization enabled. Our 508 JAWS testing team is having a few issues related to keyboard navigation inside the Document view. Specifically, how is a visually impaired user utilizing a screen reader able to discern when the cursor is...

Re: Set "Enable Accessibility Optimization" programmatically
Thanks Cristian. I think we're OK with being able to change the default programmatically (not necessarily force it). The use-case is the custom CMS we're integrating with stores user information and preferences. We'd like to be able to read those preferences (including preference for accessibility o...

Set "Enable Accessibility Optimization" programmatically
Hello,
We are using Web Author v. 22.1.
Is there any way to enable accessibility optimization automatically? We don't want users to have to manually enable it. I've looked through all the loading options and can't find this exposed.
Thank you!

Re: Web Author loading/caching issue
Hi,
Thanks for the quick response. I'm not sure when our client will make time to provide this information, but for the moment they have worked around the issue and set their load balancer to only use one node. I'll update this thread when they're able to provide more information.

Publishing topic via DITA OT containing greek characters in file name
Hi, When attempting to publish a DITA topic via oXygen / DITA OT that contains greek characters in the file name, the publishing fails. I have been unable to find a solution or workaround. For example, a file having the name α.dita (greek alpha character dot dita) results in the following message in...

Using conkeyrefs in oXygen Web Author
Hello, We're having trouble figuring out how to insert conkeyrefs in DITA topics using the Web Author. We've defined keydefs in the ditamap, and set the applicable ditamap on the document being edited using the DITA toolbar. However, we only see the option for inserting conrefs - there doesn't appea...

Thank you, I had no idea the idGenerationDefaultOptions.xml file existed. Adding the necessary DITA elements to this file in the DITA framework and uploading to the web author works, and IDs are now being auto-generated.

Automatic ID generation in web author
Hi,
I'm looking for a way to enable automatic ID attribute generation for DITA documents in the web author. It doesn't look like this is currently supported.
If not, any guidance on the best way to accomplish this in the web author?
Thanks

Re: Author Component Applet - Required Libraries
Hi Radu, Thanks for the information. I was able to remove references to the FOP, truezip, httpclient, icu4j, and batik jars (we're not using SVG graphics) from the JNLP. However, removing all of the batik jars caused an error - apparently the org.w3c.dom.ElementTraversal class located in batik-ext-1...

Hi, We're using version 16 of the applet with the DITA customization, and are attempting to shorten the overall load time. Once they get back with me, I'll start a new thread. If they're able to consistently r...
