Oxygen 15.1 fails to launch

I just downloaded and installed version 15.1 and am unable to launch the application. In fact, none of the new applications (Oxygen, Diff, User Manual, etc.) included in the upgrade will launch. The upgrade was installed the same way as all of the previous upgrades. Never had this problem before, an...

Whitespace handling with CSS

Whenever I select Format and Indent while editing a CSS file, Oxygen removes the whitespace between class names. Example: .slide_thumbs .slide .slide_text { display: none; } becomes .slide_thumbs.slide.slide_text { display: none; } Which breaks the stylesheet. I've learned not to use this feature wh...

Re: XML Author steps on Oxygen 10.3 file associations

Sorin --

Thank you for the tip on editing the info.plist file. That seems to have fixed it for now.

XML Author steps on Oxygen 10.3 file associations

After upgrading to Oxygen 10.3 all of my related XML file associations (.xml, .dtd, .xls, .xpr, etc.) have defaulted to XML Author. I tried resetting them through the Finder (File > Get Info > Open With) and can do each file individually. But when I click "Change All" the association rever...

Re: Java Mac OS X 10.5 Update 4 -> Oxygen 9.3 won't launch

Radu -- I like many of the other changes in 10.2 as well. I'll download 10.3 and probably upgrade at that point. Please pass along to everyone involved that this user (and probably many more) appreciates the good work that all of you have done. Oxygen is an outstanding product that just gets better ...

Re: Java Mac OS X 10.5 Update 4 -> Oxygen 9.3 won't launch

Radu -- Thank you for your response. I downloaded the new 9.3 kit and it fixed the problem. I did modify the Oxygen Info.plist file to use Java 1.6 some time ago, and appreciate knowing now why the problem affected Oxygen but not Author. In the meantime, I downloaded a trial version of Oxygen 10.2 a...

Java Mac OS X 10.5 Update 4 -> Oxygen 9.3 won't launch

Help! I just installed the latest update from Apple and now Oxygen 9.3 refuses to launch. Could it be the new version of Java? (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/application_updates/javaformacosx105update4.html) It doesn't seem to be affecting XML Author, but I need to be able to use the f...

Re: String processing in XSLT

Radu,

That's perfect!

Your example also cleared up some questions I had about variables and the for-each element.

Much appreciated. Thank you.

String processing in XSLT

I am fairly new to XSLT but have been able to figure out most problems that have come up. But this one has me stumped. The problem: How to take a single block text separated into strings by a delimiting characters (such as semicolons), and break it down into a series of XML elements tagged with iden...

Re: XHTML Author Mode -- Empty tags / empty lines stripped

Sorin -- Adding a "white-space: pre-line" property to the CSS file did exactly what I was looking for. It preserves all of the line breaks but collapses all of the other whitespace. Perfect! I would like to find a way to use formatted XML files with InDesign, but the application seems to i...

Re: XHTML Author Mode -- Empty tags / empty lines stripped

Hi Sorin. Thank you for your response. The problem actually has to do with all whitespace in the document. For example, this is how I would need an XML document to appear before importing into InDesign: <Root><story><p>First paragraph text text text text.</p> <p>Second paragraph text text text text<...

Re: XHTML Author Mode -- Empty tags / empty lines stripped

I would like add another paragraph to the original post -- 4) Indents and line breaks are added to text that is edited in Author mode upon return to Text mode. The line breaks can be controlled by selecting "Preserve text as it is" in Preferences/Editor/Format/XML. But I can find no way to...
