Re: make the browser open the XML file through the "http" rather than "file" protocol

Dear Radu,

Thank you for the prompt reply! The idea with the external tool works beautifully. In my case, the command to use is

/usr/bin/firefox http://0.0.0.0:1111/${cfne}

Best regards,

make the browser open the XML file through the "http" rather than "file" protocol

Hello, Is there a way to specify the "Default Internet browser" in Oxygen in such a way that the browser will not open the file through the "file" protocol (i.e., "file:///path_to_file/file_name.xml"), but request it from a HTTP server running on the machine (e.g., &quo...

Re: speed of content completion in Oxygen 22

Hi Radu,

Thank you for the prompt reply. Yes, the setting you indicate appears to solve the problem. I am happy to see that there is a setting for this, rather than it being due to the speed of the program.

Thanks again,

speed of content completion in Oxygen 22

Hello, I recently upgraded from Oxygen 10 to Oxygen 22 (on Ubuntu 16.04). I am facing the following problem: Over many years of using Oxygen 10, content completion has become an integral part of how I use the editor. For example, I am used to entering "<l" and hit Enter in order to produce...

maximize editing area

Hello, I am using Oxygen 22 on Ubuntu 16.04. I would like to maximize the editing area, i.e., remove all unneeded toolbars and status bars. I was able to remove most unneeded bars, but there are a couple of unneeded elements that remain. I would like to ask whether these can be removed too. They are...

Re: make Oxygen open in a maximized window on Ubuntu

I have found a solution -- or maybe rather a workaround -- to my problem, namely to install the package Maximus and add it to the startup applications. Maximus maximizes all windows by default, and so Oxygen too is maximized when launched. Maximus has an exclusion list on which I can put the applica...

make Oxygen open in a maximized window on Ubuntu

Hello, I am using Oxygen 10.3 on Ubuntu 16.04. When I launch Oxygen via the Unity launcher, Oxygen opens in a resized (i.e., not maximized) window. Is there some way to make Oxygen open automatically in a maximized window? I suppose that it would have to be some line of code or a parameter to be add...

open file from the command line in already running Oxygen

Hello, I am using Oxygen on Ubuntu. I have the following question: Is it possible to open a certain file from the command line in an already running instance of Oxygen? I know that I can open a certain file in Oxygen from the command line by adding it as a parameter when calling the startup script, ...

Re: dead key for accents does not work in Oxygen 10.3 on Ubu

Hi Adrian, Thank you for the prompt reply! Bypassing the JRE bundled with Oxygen indeed solved the problem with the dead key for accents, but it did have some side effects (most importantly, the application is now considerably slower in starting up and performing certain actions). So I would like to...

dead key for accents does not work in Oxygen 10.3 on Ubuntu

Hello, I am using Oxygen 10.3 on Ubuntu. I recently upgraded from Ubuntu 12.10 to 13.10 and am now experiencing a weird bug. The dead key to produce accented characters (e.g., "´" + "e" = "é") does not work in Oxygen, although it does work in other applications. That is...

Spanish spell check in oXygen 10

Hello, I am using oXygen 10.3. I need to spell check xml data in Spanish. The page http://www.oxygenxml.com/spell_checking.html says that oXygen comes with the Hunspell Spell Checker with a Spanish dictionary built in, but I cannot find that option, so I assume this only holds for later versions. So...

"Double-Click Timeout" setting in Ubuntu ineffective in Oxygen

Hello I have recently switched from MacOS to Ubuntu and have run into a couple of problems with Oxygen for Ubuntu. A couple of weeks ago I posted about a problem with the launcher (http://www.oxygenxml.com/forum/topic7718.html). I have also come across a second and more important problem....

Hi Adrian,

Yes, I am referring to the "Oxygen XML Editor.desktop" file. I found two such files, one on my desktop and one in the Oxygen directory. I tried both and found the same behavior.

Re: cannot launch Oxygen 10.3 from launcher in Ubuntu 12.10

Hi, I just installed Oxygen 14.1 (with a 30-day trial licence, for the moment) and still see the same problem: Clicking on the launcher icon (which I created by dragging the symlink to the launcher) makes a second Oxygen icon appear in the launcher. This second icon represents the running applicatio...
